Removing odours from clothes?
Does any one have any idea the best way to remove odours from clothes. I have a couple or shirts / tshirts that have a lingring smell of de-odourant despite being washed quite frequently. The clothes are not that old (6-7months) and pretty much get a wear once then wash and wouldnt have said I used an awful lot of roll on so I'm a bit surprised at the state they are in.

I'd try Oxy-Clean. Anything that can get cat urine scent out of fabric has my undying love and devotion.
What's the fabric content of your shirt(s)? What deo. is it? I've seen some that actually discolor clothing! I dont know if it's the deo. or the shirts though. |
What works for me on just about any smell I've had to get rid of is the Febreez they make that you pour in the washing machine....its never failed me

A 50/50 dilution of vinegar and water might be worth a shot.

feebreeze is insane on the smell! try it. i really like it!

mainly 100% cotton clothing. Deodourant would be Sure 24hr for men. I've used Febreeze spray before on other things but found the smell quite over powering. Will have a look out for the liquid cleaner though.

yeah its totally different from the spray things.....it doesnt leave a smell on the clothes

I might be completely blind, but it looks like you can't get febreeze for washing machines in the UK and I've checked the US web site and they don't list it either.
Any pointers on where you found this? |
Oxyclean is the best stuff! I put a scoop in every load of laundry. My bf used to have white deodorant stains on the outsides of his polo shirts, but after using Oxyclean with a few washes, the stains have gone away. Also, fabric softener helps additionally with the smells, and makes things nice and soft. The brand that I found works best for me is distributed by Quixtar (www.quixtar.com). I have problems with other fabric softeners on my underwear making me itch, so I order the large size bottle and am good for months.
