Purpose of granules in white blood cells?
 

I'm curious, what is the purpose of granules in granulocytes? (white blood cells with granules)

Those granules I believe contain lots of enzymes and the like, that are released to attack an invading cell or virus.

but it seems that basophils are responsible for allergic reactions, hardly anything to do with phagocytocis

and monocytes can perform phagocytocis without the presence of granules. So it doesn't explain much :( boo.

see the onus is on the OP to start a discussion about something, not just ASK a question and leave it. Two mods looked at it and left it open to see just what kind of discussion you were willing to create with it.

Had you added something of your own knowledge to it in the OP, you'd probably not gotten such snarky responses from the mods.
