Recording from a satellite channel?
Help guys!!!
I lost my video remote control and manual and really need to tape my favorite shows from the satellite. We do not have basic tv channels and whenever I record, it records the basic tv channel and not the satellite (it comes out the static screen, since I have no basic tv channels). How can I record from the satellite? Thanks in advance for any help! |

I would go on line and see if you can find the manual for your brand of receiver. Most are out there. You probablky have a button pushed when you shouldn't.

First you need to tell us how your satellite is connected to your TV. Is it a central receiver which goes to all TV's, or is it a receiver that's right next to your TV?
Basically you're going to take the cable that's currently going into your TV connect it to the VCR. Then you're going to take a new cable and run that from the VCR to the TV. |

it depends on how your VCR is set up. If you're bringing it in via a coaxial cable, then probably channel 3. If you're bringing it in via RCA cables (the yellow, red, and white ends) it should be set to either line, or to VCR depending on how sophisticated your TV is.
