Normally, I find your stuff funny, but this is just a cheap shot.

Sorry, I don't find it funny.

Thanks for reacting honestly. Doing cartoons is like telling a joke, but not hearing the audience laugh or boo. It's hard to figure out what works and what doesn't.

I thought I did a really funny cartoon that was half-pun, half sick. You thought it was a cheap shot. Who am I taking a shot at here? Boyscouts? Pedophiles? Homosexuals? People that split "brokeback" into two words (damn it!)?

The cheap shot was at scouting, in my opinion.

As a long time veteran and an adult leader I have to fight that stereotype every day. Yes, I am a Boy Scout leader, but I am not a homsexual (not that there's anything wrong with that) nor am I a pedophile.

Maybe I took it too personal, but I just think it was too cheap. I place that type of humor in the same catergory as racial humor, not funny.

I laughed out loud.

That someone else is offended can either be taken as a sign that it isn't funny or, as a comedian I saw a couple years ago put it "hey, if I'm not offending someone, everyone else wouldn't laugh'.

I agree, It is really funny to me, mostly because it IS a cheap shot ( and a good one at that )

It could have been one of those Far Side quads with a shared speech bubble:
Just add the cowboy, priest, and congressman... any other stereotypes up for grabs?

Not that I take abuse of those roles lightly, but rolling with punches goes with the territory.

Hmmm... I guess I didn't know that Scout leaders had reputations akin to Michael Jackson or Catholic Priests. They are pretty neutral in my head - right up there with bank tellers. And to me, that's kind of where the humor comes from, the unexpected.

Why did I pick "scoutin'"? Because damn few things rhyme with "mountain," and "Brokeback Fountain" isn't funny.

Anyway, I make no apologies for offense, but I REALLY appreciate the feedback, positive and negative.

Normally he's funny, but not when the joke is pointed in your general direction? Think about that for a bit.

Oh, and I liked the comic by the way.

I don't get it. I know what brokeback means (though I had to look it up) and I get the implications of what the big guy is looking for but I don't get how it's a joke...
