A Canadian traveling to Austailia is passing through the immigration/customs point in the airport when the officer asks him, "Do you have a criminal record?" He replies, "I didn't know I still needed one."

The first white Australians were convicts sent from England. As punishment they shipped 'em from a small rainy island to a large sunny one.
Of course it's more complicated than that, but this is the basic background behind this and some similar jokes. |
