Fun with credit card fraud

From http://www.zug.com/pranks/credit

Here's an interesting "prank" where someone attempts to sign his credit card receipts as ridiculously as possible. However, he repeatedly fails to raise the attention of cashiers/waiters. He tells the story better than I do, so I recommend checking out the two links...but here is a selection:

Funny Stuff

i have a feeling that it would work 99% of the time, but when one does get caught, one probably feels like an ass for it. clerks and service workers have enough of a tough existance...trying to pull a joke at their expense seems a little cruel.

It also depends on what you look like. I definitely do not look like of age to own a credit card. Therefore, whenever I use it, the signature is checked.

As for zug.com, i love the "all-natural prank"

"You have no idea how strange it is to have the teenage counter clerk at Bertucci's watching you scribble fiercely on a piece of paper, as if you wished to purge the evil that is your signature."

Good stuff.

That was great

The scary part is that so few check id.... which is why i check unbilled activity EVERY DAY.

I work at a bakery and it doesn't make sense to check every person that walks in, especially when lines are out the door.

I can see why people don't check. I know I don't. There's just not enough time and everyone's trying to get along on their way without you holding them back for something like that.
