A cowboy walks into a bar..
 

A cowboy walks into a modern day bar. Everybody looks at him, but then they're like, 'whatever.' The cowboy sits down at the bar.

COWBOY
Gimme a sarsaparilla!

BARTENDER
Uhh.... how bout a beer?

COWBOY
FINE!

The bartender proceeds to pour him the beer. The cowboy takes it and starts to drink.

BARTENDER
(looking at him)
So... what do you do?

COWBOY
I'm a wagon maker!

BARTENDER
But... nobody rides a wagon anymore...

COWBOY
I KNOW!

BARTENDER
Then... why ....

....
....

COWBOY
Time travel accident.

This is actually a skit I wrote and am hoping to shoot it in video sometime. Just need a bar and a cowboy outfit. kinda just keeps in line with my visual and non-sensical humor, and i like seeing people go 'wtf?' Its been 50/50 so far to people i've told it to, its either hilarious or they go, 'huh?'.

I guess I fall into the wtf category then. Good luck anyway!

The unexpected answer had me sniggering. Sometimes it's the ridicularity of the joke that does it.

I think it's pretty good. You have to tell it just right though...

In my opinion, it needs better dialogue. They seem sort of out-of-character from what you'd expect.

This line in particular: "BARTENDER
But... nobody rides a wagon anymore..."

it really doesn't make sense. If anything, the bartender would ask "Wagons? What for?"

That is great man. If that was done live it would be real quiet for a second and then just hit them so hard.

I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who made a comment. Its been encouraging. I'll post more sketches as I take the time to make them. And if everything goes well I'll shoot it and everybody can see it visually. yay.

Put me down as wtf, but I like where you're headed with it...

As text, I have to say it did nothing for me. But for something like this, its all in how the actors play it, right expression, timing etc.
It could work brilliantly on film...but on the other hand it could fall flat on its face.

Oh and if you can find a way, you should think of uploading an mpg of it for us to see it when its finished!
