obviously, the sun was in kerry's eyes. It is also symbolic about how bush is passing the ball (responsibility) to others while he remains clean and neat, whereas Kerry has a lot of work ahead of him picking up responsibility that others are flinging around.

See, to be funny, there has to be an element of reality or at the very least relevance to political satire. The editorial cartoon that ran in some papers last sunday showing Dick Cheney holding a paper bag labelled "fear" behind a voter and getting ready to pop it was funny because it was relevant.

Whether Bush or Kerry can catch a football has no bearing on how I (or any other American with a sliver of intelligence) will cast my vote, so it. . well. . just ain't funny
