Still my all time favorite
When Sarah and Josh got married, they were seniors in college, and because of finances took up residence in Sarah's mother's upstairs bedroom. Josh who was studying furiously for finals didn't even have time, let alone the money for a honeymoon, so they moved in on their wedding night.
The next morning after Josh left for class Sarah went down to the kitchen to have coffee with her mother. Sure as shooting mom finally got around to asking how the wedding night went. "Josh didn't do a thing mom" Sarah complained "he was too wrapped up in studying". The mother was agasp and suggested that tonight if Sarah put on her thinnest night gown this evening, Josh would shurely insist that he could study later. The next morning Sarah went to the kitchen with a long look on her face, saying "didn't work mom...he barely looked up from his book at me". By now mom was beginning to think that perhaps she would never see any grandchildren, but was determined to help all she could. "Tell you what you do tonight Sarah, take a bath using scented soap, then tiptoe over and crawl into bed with him in the nude. No man can resist that." Still worried, mom propped a ladder up aginst the back of the house, and peeked in the window that night. Sure enough, Sarah glided out of the bathroom as naked as the day she was born, and lay down on top of the covers next to Josh. Pretty soon He reached for her, and mom thought, "at last", and climbed back down the ladder satisfied that she had done her job. The next morning when Sarah came down, mom noticed that her eyes were red, and she had been crying. "What in the world is wrong dear? Was he too rough with you"? "No mom, he didn't do a thing again last night", she moaned. Admiting she had been on the ladder, mom said "but I saw him reach over and touch your crotch darling". "I know" Sarah replied, "he was wetting his finger to turn the page". |

For those who believe in God, most of the big questions are answered. But for those of us who can't readily accept the God formula, the big answers don't remain stone-written. We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable. Love need not be a command or faith a dictum. I am my own God. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us. --Charles Bukowski |
