How NOT To Report A Burglary
DUBLIN, Georgia -- A U.S. man called police and complained that a burglar had broken into his home and stolen his marijuana.
School bus driver John Randolph, of Dublin, Georgia, said the thief had taken four small bags of marijuana, a pistol, a gold necklace and some loose change. Police officer Michael Milton said he asked Randolph about the marijuana again, to make sure he had heard him correctly. The bus driver repeated what he said, and then showed Milton a small box on a bedroom dresser where he said he kept the drugs. According to the police report, Randolph told the officer he was "saving the marijuana to smoke when school was out." Detective Sergeant Tommy Cobb, who also went to Randolph's home, said it was the first time he had heard of anyone reporting a marijuana theft. He said: "I asked him: 'Why are you telling us you had marijuana?' He said he was always told to tell the truth." Dublin police said Randolph has not been charged following his admission, and there have been no arrests in connection with the burglary.
