Music Joke
My music professor told us this one
A conductor announces to his orchestra that they will be performing Beethoven's 9th for their next concert. A loud groan emenates from the bass section. The basses don't play until the very end of that song, so they have to sit in complete boredom for about an hour before it's their time to play. Later, the basses hatch a plan. When the time comes to play the symphony, they will sneak out the emergency exit and have a few drinks in the pub across the street. They tie a little yellow ribbon to the page of the long Conductor's score where they will have to play, so they will know when to come back. It's 8:00 on the night of the concert, the time comes to play the song. The basses carefully slink out of their seats and out the door, and across the street. At about 9:00, all of the basses have had a few too many. One of the more sober ones looks at the time and notices it's almost been an hour. He starts panicking(sp?) and scrambles to get everyone together. The cello player is passed out under the pool table, the double bassist is wooing the ladies at the bar. Eventually they all scramble across the street and sprint through the emergency exit, only to find that the red ribbon page is open, and the conductor's want is just about to drop to start the part of the song where the basses come in. This is a very intense moment, because the the score is tied, the basses are loaded and it's the bottom of the ninth. Har har har.
