How to bathe a cat

1. Thoroughly clean the toilet.

2. Add the required amount of shampoo to the toilet water, and have both lids lifted.

3. Obtain the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom .

4. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids (you may need to stand on the lid so that he cannot escape) CAUTION: Do not get any part of your body too close to the edge, as his paws will be reaching out for any purchase they can find.

5. Flush the toilet three of four times. This provides a "power wash and rinse" which I have found to be quite effective.

6. Have someone open the door to the outside and ensure that there are no people between the toilet and the outside door.

7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.

8. The now-clean cat will rocket out of the toilet, and run outside where he will dry himself.

My mom just sent me that one--thought I'd get a new post out of it. :p Made me laugh a lot though, so I thought I'd give it a bump :)

For me the really funny part is that when I was a child I tried to bathe- except in a sink- one of my cats- it did not turn out for the best. I ended up very scratched and he ended up very unhappy. :lol:

Would it work? Well, maybe if you were trying to get a very pissed off, possibly drowned cat.

I didn't find it funny because I'm this mean, cat-hating person...I have two cats, and they're treated very well. I did, however, recently give them both baths (in the tub)...and ended up with scratches on my arms, and everything in the bathroom absolutely soaked.

So I read this, then looked at Jasper and Willow, and said (yes, I talk to my cats...I'm aware that this makes me slightly crazy) "better watch it--next time I'll just put you in the toilet." I'm pretty sure they didn't take me seriously, since they just gave me a funny look.

hilarious -- just picturing doing this to my parents cat makes it all the more amusing!
