Boot 'em
 

Bob and his wife just moved from New York to Texas. While he`s out running errands the first wee he sees a store selling genuine hand-made cowboy boots. Now Bob has always secretly wanted a pair of real cowboy boots and even though they`re expensive he decides to buy a pair. He puts `em on and goes home to show the wife. He walks into the kitchen all filled with pride and says "notice anything new Bernice?"

She glances over and shakes her head before returning to her newspaper.
So he places one foot up on the chair and says "Are you sure you don`t notice something?"

She looks up from the paper a little and says "No, what?"

More than a little exasperated he trots into the bedroom, strips down to nothing but his boots and storms back out. "There!Notice anything NOW?"

She sighs and says "It was hanging straight down yesterday and it`s hanging straight down today."

"WELL IT`S HANGING STRAIGHT DOWN BECAUSE IT`S LOOKING AT MY BRAND NEW BOOTS BERNICE! " he shouts.

She glances at the boots and then back at him and says "Then you shoulda bought a hat Bob, you shoulda bought a hat."

It took a second for me to get that. Nice.
