This reminds me of a real life encounter.

I once saw two guys arguing. One said to the other "I wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire!" and stomped off.

He stopped, a thought occurred, and he walked back over and said to his opponent "I would if you were in a restaurant though", and walked away.

that's the ticket, a subtle piquant of old school orneriness with just a touch of psychopathic violence...for the win!
