For those against the death penalty...
... inmates about to die say some funny things!
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/law/12/10...rds/index.html Some of these "famous last words" are hilarious! |

Even I don't know how this is funny.

I don't really get it, either.

"When I die, bury me deep, lay two speakers at my feet, put some headphones on my head and rock and roll me when I'm dead. I'll see you in Heaven someday. "

I must be a little off kilter as I can see the humour in this.

My vote is also for not funny.
Years ago I knew a priest once assigned to the Oregon State Pen. He told me about an execution he attended back in the sixties. Attended? Not sure that's even the right word. At any rate he said several State Police Troopers, some of the condemned man's family and one newspaper reporter were basically the only witnesses. Said the troopers were drunk, laughing, joking, and cussing at the commended. After they gassed the guy he asked to speak with the troopers and explained there's a special place in hell for people who behave like they did. The way he told the story they were all white as ghost when he was done and suddenly sober. Some things just aren't funny. |

If they were about to be executed, and their last dying words were "I love you mom" so something else equally as sad or poignant, then it wouldn't be humor. But when a serial killer says "Redskins are going to the Super Bowl." then its funny.
