Falling Sand Game

Anyone else play this?

I know, it is like a Zen rock garden or something, but when I was younger, there were these little things that had sand in water between two pieces of glass, and the bubbles would make the sand fall in pretty patterns.

Sheesh, I feel lame and old at the same time, but if you are at work and need a few minutes of peace (besides reading the TFP) try this out.

Linky

From what I can tell:

Water falling on plant (green) creates more plant
Fire touching plant or oil causes more fire.
Celo burns very slowly
that spinning nakamuchi thing (whatever) grows with water, shrinks with salt.

Create tunnels, obstacles, containers, mazes.

Ain't gravity the grooviest?

Neat game. Thanks for the info Ben. I had in advertently drawn a line from the namekuji to the water flow and then left my computer for 5 minutes. When I got back, the thing was huge.

I burn things all the time in this game. What does that say about my personality?

WALL - stops everything
FIRE - burns PLANT fast, OIL medium, and CERA (wax?) slow
WATER - makes PLANT grow - stops FIRE
SAND - seems to fill things up - is innert
SPOUT - creates waterfall
??? - chain lightning
OIL - burns
SALT - makes NAMEKUJI shrink - enough SALT makes it explode and a new one is born
WATER - makes NAMEKUJI sit still and grow

I think oil burns as fast as the plant, if not faster.

Also wax as it burns starts to drip. When it stops moving, it becomes solid again and can be burnt again.

Well appreciate that Ben, I just clicked the link just to check it out.

That was thirty minutes ago.

That explains why the water makes it grow and salt makes it shrink.

And an aside, the slug catches on fire real nice.

God, I got totally obsessed with that game. That thing eats CPU cycles, though -- I'm running a 2 gig 64 bit proc and my usage was around 90% with nothing else significant going on. Hooray JRE!

Also, ??? Cannot burn plant.

The grammarians are going to have a field day with that sentence.

Sand is pretty boring in this game (and perhaps every game).

Was playing with this a few weeks ago, forgot to link it. Damn.

Anyway, you may have missed it, but sand eats the spout as well.

I think I spent about 4 hours playing with it, the first night I saw it.

I can't get the sand to puncture through the wall. Is that a confirmed behavior?
