Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel Without a Pulse
How in the heck did this game get under my radar? I had never heard of this game, saw it, and decided to try it. I must say it was one of my greatest gaming experiences ever. Ever since I played Resident Evil 2 (the first RE I ever played), I wanted there to be a game where you're the zombie. This game not only satisfies that want, but had me cracking up all throughout the game. I was able to play through it in one sitting, but I know I'm going to go back to it frequently to satisfy my brain-eating needs.
The game takes place in the 50's, but in a futuristic town with robot servants and hovercars. The music is awesome; oldies like "Lollipop," "My Boyfriend's Back," and "Lonesome Town" among others, all re-done by punk bands. They're not punk versions; the songs are true to the originals except they're performed with electric guitars etc. to give it an 80's rock feel. You're pretty much running around the town, eating people's brains. What's really cool is that everyone you kill becomes a zombie; one of your legions. It has a storyline, but you really don't know what's going on until the end. The humour is great; I won't spoil that for you. Anyone else play this? If not, I HIGHLY recommend it! |
