My comp runs Rome Total War with Barbarian Invasions without a hiccup unless Atilla brings his extended family and everyone they know to battle, and even then only lags when on high speed setting, yet Civ 4 locks up, jerks around and generally pisses me off.
I love the game, I hate the fact that it won't run properly despite being turn based. |

Hmmm, I haven't had any problems with the game.... I run with all options on high at res set at 1600x1200. Never studders and has NEVER CTD once...
Thanks for the link, I actually found that this weekend... Great site.

I'll have to say Civ 2 was one of my favorites of all time, and I still haven't played 3. I'm kind of afraid of having to learn everything all over again, because it took forever to get good at 2. How bad is the learning curve here???

well, i thought it was terrible
such a dissapointment even on "epic" it doesnt retain the style and epicness of civ2. it's way too fast and small. they got rid of everything cool, and eveything they added was pretty minor (government styles ala alpha centauri) AC with alien expansion is still the best sid meier game out there bar none |

Yeah they took out a lot of the touches that were in three. BUT they did improve the battle system and the corruption. The religion system is neat. Seems like they removed a bunch of the endgame military units, but I don't know what. There also doesn't seem to be much of an editor so the chances of a decent mod community sprouting up are probably nil. I'll probably give this another week or so but then it's getting ebayed.

This has to be the most addicting game I have ever played.....
Now don't get me wrong I have all of the earlier incarnations of the game, but this one has the right amount of enhancements...... The graphics are better and the overall presentation of the game is better. Thankfully they brought back the Wonder movies..... I hope they will do more in future releases...... |
