I had a key for the stress test beta last weekend and forgot all about it until after the event was over. I'll probably give this a whirl but I could never get past 30 days in CoH without getting bored. The toon creation process is the best out there though.

I did the stress test, the new ATs are nice. Almost all are more fun than the CoH ones. But don't think all the (individual) powers are new, most arn't. Maybe only 25%-35% are new, the rest are just sort of mixed up from the old. Mastermind and Brute are especially interesting.
Since I was in ST I didn't have time to experience the new base systems and such and that definetly seems cool. Unfortunetly, you don't feel like much of a villain with the missions. Instead of disarming bombs, it says arming, instead of rescue it's kidnap (with the same motions to go through as rescues pretty much), etc. And half the time you are still fighting criminals (hellions, etc). There are a few new missions though, I didn't get to experience all of them, I hear the bank robbery one is good. To some it may be worth the money, but to me it's more of a large expansion than a sequel, so I'll probably wait till the price goes down. |

Still fighting it.

I have weird cycles with both City games... I play a lot for a week or two, then get bored and don't play for a week or two, rinse and repeat. Mastermind is fun, fun, fun.
Does anyone else think the story structure is much better put together than in City of Heroes? I always seem to find myself struggling to find anything approaching content in Paragon City, whereas in the Rogue Isles, story arcs and cool missions are just everywhere I look? |
