So..What Xbox360 launch titles are hot?
The most recent list I could find is as follows:
From Take-Two Interactive: NBA 2K6 NHL 2K6 Top Spin 2 Amped 3 The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. From Activision: Call of Duty 2 Quake 4 Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland GUN. From Electronic Arts Need for Speed Most Wanted FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup NBA Live 06 Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 Madden NFL 06. From Rare/Microsoft Kameo: Elements of Power Perfect Dark Zero From Bizarre Creations Project Gotham Racing 3 My must two are Elder Scrolls:Oblivion and Perfect Dark:Zero. So? What's floating your boat. I still don't see the killer app, but I do see some potentially solid games. My most anticipated title is Gears of War. That's gonna rock.

Fucking right Elder Scrolls and Perfect Dark. I picked those two out before I even saw your response. Clearly they must rule. Of course, I'm going to play Elder Scrolls on PC most likely, but it's still one of the best looking launch titles.

I thought I heard somewhere that Elder Scrolls was only gonna be on 360? If it's also gonna be released on PC then I might get it, 'cause I've seen some in-game footage and it looks freaking sweet.
I know it is not a launch title but... Halo 3 ::dodges torrent of rotten tomatoes:: I loved Halo 2, what can I say? |

Buy: Oblivion, Crackdown
Consider: Prey, Perfect Dark Zero Crackdown from developer Real Time Worlds and publisher Microsoft It's like GTA:VC with elements of Spiderman2 and Prince of Persia You're a government agent sent out to kill some gangs, however you like Features include:
Prey will at least be fun to rent and might be perfect for frag fest fans (MC Escher eat your heart out, look ma no body; walk on walls, change gravity with a wall switch, pop in and out of portals, shoot thru portals; spirit walk ala Native American mythology) |

Kameo looks nice and Perfect Dark is probably going to be a must have, but the game I'm excited about (and last I read it's been bumped up to a launch title) is Saints' Row. To be honest, those three games are the only real reason, for me at least, to buy a 360 in November.

I don't take game previews seriously at all, because any preview can make a game look good. After the reviews are published I'll consider which game to buy, even though none really stand out to me. Prey looks decent, but nothing special. I loved the first Perfect Dark, so that is sorta interesting, but it's nothing new either. Oblivion looks the best out of all of the launch titles. I've mentioned this in many threads, but the 360's graphics simply aren't up to par with "next-gen" status. People like to argue this fact, but look at the difference between PS1 and PS2. There's a HUGE gap in between the graphics. Same with N64 and Gamecube. But from XBox and Xbox 360, the games simply don't look that much better as of now. I'm sure it will get better as time goes on, but the launch titles should at least look considerably better than current-gen titles. Games like Black and Burnout 4 look as good if not BETTER than XBox 360 games. That's not good. I'm glad games like Oblivion at least raise the graphical bar up a decent notch. Either way, I like to avoid being a fanboy by buying only one system and then arguing about how good it is so I can feel I didn't waste my money, so I'll be buying the 360 anyway. There's gonna be one hell of a game next year that'll make it worth buying.

Remeber folks, most of the team that made GoldenEye and PErfect Dark left Rare to form FreeRadical. My concern is, how many of the people who made those games are left, were they the talented ones, and will this game even be up to par with its predecessors? Perfect Dark is still one of my all time favorite games. Will this match up?

Judging from some the trailers (NBA Live, Elder Scrolls, Gears of War, PGR3) that I have seen, the Xbox 360 definitely represents a significant jump in terms of graphics. I haven't completely decided if I'm going to get a 360 right away, but my decision will be guided based on 2 criteria: (1) Money, and (2) if it can offer me a gaming experience that is superior than what I currently get. Considering previous system launches (PSP, PS2, Xbox 1), I think the Xbox 360 has a pretty decent lineup.
I'm most excited about Elder Scrolls, Kameo, and Project Gotham Racing 3, in that order. I love the Elder Scrolls games, and Kameo looks like it could be a great sleeper hit with a lot of mass appeal. |

A friend just told me everywhere within 50 miles of here is already sold out of preorders so I doubt I'll be getting one at launch, but the only game I'm looking forward to is Elder Scrolls and it's being released on PC so no big deal. Gears of War does look good but I'm guessing it's not a launch title anymore..
