Game Boy Micro: Where the hell is it?
Has anyone here actually seen one in person yet? It supposedly came out last week, although at my store we didn't get any shipped to us.

Yeah, I went to wal-mart yesterday, and they had signs everywhere-- "Gameboy Micro! Coming September 21!", but it was nowhere to be found. I think I'm just gonna get the revamped GBA:SP anyway. The GBASP design is awesome, and it's gonna have a backlit screen that's bigger than the GBA micro's backlit screen... Plus it folds in half, so the screen doesn't scratch very easily unless you leave it open a lot when you're not playing (which I have never, ever done).

I'm not sure where it is, but I'm really not sure why this Micro version is even coming out. The GBA: SP is the perfect size for your pocket. It feels perfect in your hand. The buttons are easy to get to. You can play for hours upon hours with no hand aches. The battery life is absolutely massive (10-15 hours with the backlight) and the LED hasn't went out on mine since I bought it. Plus, you can't scratch the screen with it folded up, and the screen be be tilted to the way you want it for different heights. It plays GB, GB Color, and GB Advance games. Why in the HELL would you want to make something even smaller that gives up some of these conveniences? The only plus the Micro has is a direct headphone jack. I think the Micro was developed because of the iPod Nano. SMALLER IS BETTER!! HURRAY!!!

In case you haven't noticed, Lasereth, Nintendo is trying to hit the mass-market It's targeted directly at non-gamers, they don't intend for those of us with GBAs and DSs to go out and buy another one.

Yeah, I love my SP, I don't think the micro is worth it at all. I also don't really want the DS until I grow a prehensile tail and can run the sylus with that.

Why wait for a DS? Buy one now! Generally, games that use the stylus avoid the face buttons, and vice versa. Only the very poor games (Splinter Cell *cough*) make you use both.

Well we got the shipment in just the other day of black and silver Micro's; it's confusing, however, because the color of the system is determined by the color of the unit, and the silver Micro's have a black faceplate, and the black Micro's have a silver faceplate. Also, the package it comes in is exactly like the display packages we have. With the other systems, the PSP, GBASP, etc, you can tell there's a system inside because of the weight difference. However with the Micro, it's so small and lightweight, it's easy to confuse.
I haven't tried out one yet though...

We got them in at work today, and i sliced one open. It weight is nice seeing that the main outer shell is a brushed aluminum but its too small for my hands, 6'1" 210 Lbs, and the orginal Xbox controller fits my hands well. The micro is TOO SMALL and will not play the older gb games, Just the Advanced.
It has a built in headphone jack, which is needed seeing that the speaker is weak. The screen is nice although about 1 1/2 inch tall and about 2 inchs wide. Following stats are from our Nintendo Rep. Dimensions (WxDxH) 4 In x .7 in x 2 in Weight 2.8 oz Video Mem 96KB Display 2 in LCD Resolution 240 x 160 pixels Colors 512 out of a max 32,000 Display Feature Sharp TFT with adjustable Back Light Processor Clock Speed 16.78 MHz 32-bit RISC-CPU Processor Sharp ARM7TDMI Main Memory 32KB, 256KB external Battery Lithium-Ion. Approx 6 to 10 hour life
