May 15th, same day as ENTER THE MATRIX and a suspected Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness release date.
ETM will kick arse in sales but Vice City will do better in the long run I reckon. Sounds like there area bunch of new features for the PC VC which is knarly! |

It better not be as glitchy as the PS2 version. The icecream/save point fuckup pissed off alot of people I know.

I will NOT buy vice city untill I have talked to a number of other people who have bought it and played and they can tell me its not buggy as hell. GTA3 could have been such a great game but pissed me the hell off.

What bugs did you experience? And in which platform?
I bought and played GTA3 on PS2 and PC and had no complaints but like with Splinter Cell on the PC I had heaps of bugs (all fixed now ![]() |

I played it on pc. I had hella bugs. Lag everywhere. Graphics bugs all the time. You must have been one of the lucky few becasue shortly after I bought it I started looking to GTA3 site message boards for help and find everyone else to have same problems. I mean you would be driving along and your car would fall through the ground. Or everything would suddenly be like acid trip. Or one second you would be getting 30 fps (the best I ever got but I could stand that) then 10 fps for no reason. Now granted I do not have an awsome system I played it on the lowest settings and I talked to others who played it on the lowest setting and had like 2.1 Ghz systems and it still lagged. Its possible they patched some of that now but the game should never have been released like that anyway.

i never had any probs with gta3 exept for a problem with savegames (i couldn't load them anymore), but that's fixed.
and I think that they took the advice of gta3 and tested Vice City more to get rid of the bugs

Mine was smooth as, mind you I played on a P4 2.4GHz, 512DDR Ram, GeForce 4 Ti4200 128MB DDR, SbLive 5.1 machine.
It's quite annoying that some PC games these days expect everyone to have a machine like that, I mean Splinter Cell didn't even work well on my specs! But a little tweaking soon took care of that. |

WhiteTiger and BBtB, thanks, you've made me very interested in this game, I hired it out for the PS2 a while back and wasn't too taken by it but it looks damned skippy here on PC! Can't wait to buy it!
Some specs for those interested: Quote:

No multiplayer support but people are developing a mod for GTA3 on the PC so that you play play online, I think they're on Version 0.3 now.
In time Vice City will too have a multiplayer option made by those keen modders. However, Take2/Rockstar have said that there'll be a few hidden surprises on the PC version of Vice City so fingers crossed that they're talkin' about multiplayer! |
