Would asking for a warcraft II Cd-Key be illegal? - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I have my own disc that I payed for I just lost the original box so I don't have the key.

So would it be illegal to ask someone for theirs on the gaming board?

While I understand the frustration of having a game that you can't access asking for a key smacks of warz and game hacking which are against TFP rules.

yes. and I know the feeling, my orginal WC2 CD got scratched just right so it would never start a game. WC2:BNE is like 10 now.

if you registered the game when you got it, can't blizzard help you with something here?

also, when I lost my sims cd key, I found a shareware program that retrieved it off of my pc. this requires that at one time you inputed the cd key, however. good luck. their web page describes manually searching your registry for the number.
