Dreamcast emulator
I saw one that sounded really cool, its called Chankast. Only problem is getting the Dreamcast bios files. Now I would never ask for help finding dreamcast bios, knowing that would be against the rules of this forum. I would also never ask you to email them to me at elizabeth.jones@mchsi.com. So, do not worry, I won't ask. I would also say if you get this emulator it should be used for demo purposes only, and I am positive no one here on this board would ever dream of trying to play some ILLEGAL ISO they downloaded for it. So, for hypothetical purposes, this is a neat little program. If you do play games, play the ones you own. With the program you can play your games right off the CD. However, like I said before, you would need the bios and they are hard to find.

The graphics are about the same as the ps2, the games were just as good. It came out so early that when Gamecube, ps2, and xbox came out people gave up on dreamcast because they thought it was old and not as good...even if that was not true. One thing about dreamcast was it had better online than ps2 by far, and even xbox in some ways. I used to use it to get on the internet and surf the web because it was faster than the old ass mac I had at the time. I have a deep love for my dreamcast, sometimes I still whip it out and play with it.

Dreamcast is probably the most underrated system I know of. I only know one other person who has one. Everyone else either always wanted one, or thought it was stupid and that it killed Sega.
Dreamcast was a gamble. It was ahead of it's time, and people were sceptical. It was the first time we didn't know how many bit's it had... "Dual 64, wtf, is that 128?" I know I stayed away from it because of Sega's recent track record with the Saturn and the 32x. The games were good, and the ports looked better, but it couldn't beat out the PS1.

Worms Armaggedon is better played on PC Mars Matrix can be emulated on CPS2 (rom is only 20mb as opposed to 300+mb on DC) Ikaruga, that is the one game you must play if you like shooters. Emulation on chankast is very smooth. The gameplay mechanic is just awesome. The only problem is that you can not see some of the bullets on level 2, but with some good estimation, you should not loose more than 2 ships from it.

And yes, Soul Calibur is probably a better game overall than VF3, but that doesn't make VF3 any less of a game. |
