Criterion's New FPS: Black

Criterion (developers of the Burnout series) are making a FPS for the PS2/XBox. It's called Black, and frankly, it's the best looking current-gen game I've ever seen. Graphics don't make a game, but this really needs to be seen. Black looks better than most XBox 360 launch titles. Again, I know graphics don't make a game, but this is simply amazing to be current-gen. I hope the gameplay is as good as the graphics are. :) Slated release for early 2006.

*EDIT* I forgot to mention that this is the PS2 version shown in the videos. The XBox version will look even better.

That does look pretty amazing.

I'm a big fan of the Burnout series and if this game holds true to form for Criterion, I imagine this one will be on the must-have list as well come 2006.

It just goes to show that there's still quite a bit of life left in the current generation of consoles.

Well hopefully it will get ported to PC, because I don't play FPS games on consoles. :(

Damn. Well that's a must get now....
So this is coming out after the 360??
Looks like I have to get the backwards compatible version then :D

Definitely looks good. If the gameplay lives up to those graphics, it's definitely a must buy. Thanks for the heads up!

It looks pretty good, but I think that's nothing that couldnt be done on a modern PC shooter engine. HL2 could do that easily, as long as your system could handle all the particle effects.
