DS game Nintendogs
The wife and I are going to finally break down and get a DS. A manager at the toys-r-us she works at is selling his (barely) used DS to us for $80US.
We are going to get the new digital pet game Nintendogs. Anyone played it yet? I will post our experiences this weekend if anyone wishes.. or if I just want to.. heh

Haven't played it, but heard good things. People often pick it up thinking they'll hate it and end up buying it, so prepare yourself :P

It's a fun game, but I personally think it's a fad game - remember your Tamagotchi/Virtual Pet?
I'd personally wait for the Black & White game coming out for the DS and PSP. It's like Nintendogs, where you raise your creature, like a dog, until it has grown up. But in B&W you can take your creature and have it stomp and destroy villages, or have those villages worship you and/or fear (PH33r!!1!) your creature. It's a "god" game. Think of it as Nintengods.

Nintengods .... that was hilarious. I will post our adventures with nintendogs when we get teh game, rest assured.
The cool thing about this (besides getting a pristine ds for cheap) is that Nintendogs is just my excuse for getting a ds.. the real reason is Animal Crossing DS, which will hopefully be a surprise to my wife, but since she works at toys r us... good luck eh? PS I damned near spit out iced tea when I saw yoe called it Nintengods... simply classic. PPS I am coming to looooove this forum.

I may be getting a DS this week... Mostly because of the new Lunar, but what I really want to know about this game... can you be... like, cruel and unusual, if you get what I'm saying. I'm the kind of guy that would spend a whole afternoon luring an entire Sims neighbourhood into a pool with no exit ladder, if you can imagine what that would do...

Oh, it's in our computers at work but I haven't looked at any info online, but a version of Age of Empires is coming to the DS. I'm a huge AoE fan and a DS version of this would be sweet.

Ok, we finally got the DS last night and the wife picked a lab named Rowdy. She has taught Rowdy a few tricks and gona on a few walks, and is now trying to teach her to catch a frisbee. My favorite part so far would be my kids repating the commands my wife uses.... Sit down, or speak. Wait, mebbe the best part is my wife saying "good dog" even though it doesn't go into the microphone.. she is just praising the dog.. good stuff.

Ok I finally played it.. we decided to reset and I have a min pin named jake.
A piece of advice .. don't buy MarioWare Touched the day after you get Nintendogs... you won't play the doggie game as much.. at least we don't.

welcome to the happy world of DS spongy. i haven't played nintendogs or warioware yet, but i also recommend the games "meteos" and "kirby: canvas curse". i bought "yoshi's touch and go", but my girlfriend plays it too much for me to give a solid recommendation yet.
keep me posted on the nintendogs though... i've considered trading my manly dignity to give it a shot, we'll see i guess. btw, free wireless internet play is coming in a couple months. anyone down for a TFP mariokart tournament?

I'm in for Mario Kart. That and Metroid I really can't wait for. My school just got wireless internet, so I'm psyched to use it for gaming (my laptop is a Mac, so games are a no-go). I also really recommend Advance Wars Dual Strike. One of those games I've lost sleep over. Wish it had online multiplayer... maybe next time
