So... I'm always kind of short on cash and time for gaming.
So I do a lot of gaming the cheap way (used to do the illegal way, but stopped because finding working games took almost as much time and effort as actually buying them).
Anyway. Some demos are the coolest ever and I'm totally satisfied with the free experience. Some great demos.
My all time favorite:
-Unreal Tournament 2004: Its a great game...if you wanna play on your PC by yourself, there's pretty good bots (with difficulty settings)
Tons of fun, there's a new demo out now that comes with 7 leves..And you can play online! for free! 5 different modes...all of em are fun, my personal favorite is Onslaught. So i have the opportunity to play against real people for free. kickass.

-Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory
-Max Payne 2. (cool endurance mode)

I found the Need For Speed Underground (1 & 2) demos to be quite fun.
Painkiller is another good one, as was Postal2, though I found it to be quite a disturbing game.
If you like Unreal, be sure to download the demo for Pariah...it uses the next generation unreal engine, and looks great.

For downloading, I usually head to www.3dgamers.com . There's no membership requirement, and the downloads are usually fast with no waiting.

I do enjoy America's Army, not quite a demo but it's the same price... FREE.
