Certainly goes close to what'ss been said. Apparently Broadway and Hollywood work exceedingly well together, as they should coming after the Cube's great interaction between CPU/GPU :)

So wait, IBM has its processor in all three of the next-gen consoles?

jonjon42 05-21-2005 04:57 PM

IBM has modifications of it's core processor in all three next generation consoles yes.
these modifications can and will make a difference.

Hasn't Nintendo been pretty lackluster in the console market since, like, the Super Nintendo? N64 was ok, but it was dominated by the PlayStation. And isn't GameCube way behind Xbox and PS2 in sales (thus explaining the price drop)?

GC has sold more systems world wide than XBOX, just barely.

Worldwide
PlayStation 2 - 69.46 million
GameCube - 13.94 million
Xbox - 13.7 million

Where did you get those numbers? A chart from 2 months ago had PS2 in the 88 million. You have some very old numbers, man.

Sorry about that, you are correct, I was looking at the wrong date. Anyway, here are the figures as of first quarter 2005, and Xbox is ahead of the GC, not by too much. I couldn't find anything more recent, so who knows if the numbers have changed much.
Sony Playstation 2: 81,390,000
Microsoft Xbox: 19,900,000
Nintendo Gamecube: 18,030,000
