I'm playing Need For Speed: Most Wanted. It's storyline is cheesy, but the game itself is fun so far. Great arcade-style physics and a lot of depth to the races. So far it's pretty easy, but that's probably because I already know the physics fairly well (I played NFS Hot Pursuit into the ground). I don't know if it gets harder, but so far the police chases are simple and easy to escape (but satisfying.. because you get points for fucking them up). Anyways, so far, it's great.

i have been devout halo2 online to the exclusion of dabbling with project gotham3 and call of duty for 360 when the 360 came out. since then, recently picked up tom clancy ghost recon advanced warfighter, and it is amazing!!!!!

you need to have patience for this game. even after saves, one sniper bullet ends your life and if you dont move fast enough to cover, it can take you forever to figure out how to get to the next save.

it is an awesome game though. i imagine on pc as well.

still do halo multiplayer

I will say I did purchase Oblivion and I cant stop playing it, everything just looks soo nice to me that and its like a never ending quest =P Ah and Ghost Recon: Advance Warfighter is just incredible

Been playing Half-Life 2: Episode 1 for the last two days. More of the same...which is not a bad thing for Half-Life 2. It seems as though they are really trying to develop the narrative, and it's got a really cool structure to it. It's as if they said to themselves "let's do everything backwards in this episode...give the weapons in reverse order of most powerful...start the player off with the epic finishing puzzle...etc."

Really creative and it seems to be working. I'm probably about halfway through and no sign of new enemies (except the Zombine....big deal) or weapons. One of those would be nice. My rating: 8/10

Also wondering why the case has room for more discs. Is this the standard packaging now? You could spool at least five more discs onto it.

After playing through HL2 again in preparation for Episode 1 (which I have downloaded but yet to buy), I've gone back to playing Dawn of War: Winter Assault and Republic Commando.

DoW:WA is really growing on me as I play the Imperial Guards more and more. Of course, reading the books from the Black Library is helping fuel my appetite for this game. I'm anxiously awaiting the next expansion. Seven playable races? Yes please.

What can I say about RC? The only thing lacking in this game is the failure of LucasArts to release the SDK. Sigh. I could really have used a multiplayer campaign mod for this excellent game.

That's usually the sign of them running out of ideas at the beginning of the development cycle

I picked up Oblivion for the 360 a couple of weeks ago and haven't been able to put it down. The only problem I have with it (aside from the 'loading' glitches) is that there really is no incentive to turn up the difficulty. It seems I get the same stuff no matter how high the setting is.

Still...pretty damn good game. Highly recommended.

I've also been playing Condemned, which is pretty good as well. It's dark and gritty, you collect clues, beat people with fire axes and crowbars....it's got a little bit of everything. The presentation is spectacular. My only gripe are the controls. There's limited customization and that's just a crying shame.

New Super Mario Bros is quite cool. Advance Wars will easily consume a lot of your time, as well. Mario Kart doesn't do a thing wrong, and if you're a Tetris fan Meteos might take your fancy. Don't pay full price for Meteos, though

Or wait for.... DISNEY METEOS!

or not, whatever...

I've been on vacation from TFP. I miss y'all. So since school let off and tuition got paid, This is what I've been playing.

Trauma Center- Buy this. Don't have a DS? Lite's out. Now is the time to buy. 10/10.

Metroid Prime Hunters
Single player sucks, but I've forgotten about it. I just play multicard deathmatch with all bots. It's a riot. based on that, I say 8/10, losing points for only supporting 3 bots or extra players, and not giving me freedom to make them harder. Like, I can't play 4 player teams, 3 on me. It's like portable UT, and if you'd told me this was gonna be available on a handheld back when I was in highschool playing UT like a junkie, I'da shanked you in the face and stole your fancy time machine.

New Super Mario Bros.
Awesome game, great art design, captures the feeling of the first SMB game on the NES. Too many lives though, and I can't seem to get into 2 of the worlds. Crazy hard to get into... 85/100

Star Fox Assault
I loved the first 2 Star Fox games, and steered clear of Adventures. I thought Assault went back to the old formula. There's some ship combat, but it's mostly a tame 3rd person shooter with a terrible camera. 3/10 for shattering my dreams, and being shitty at 2 genres at the same time.

2 weeks ago I got my XBox 360. I didn't get an XBox because I didn't feel it had enough games I would want (also, it was damn ugly, and the controller was too weird for me, I mean cardboard discs? Black and White buttons?). And there are really only a handful. I had a PS2 and GameCube, and quite a large library for each.

One game I missed out on and really wanted for the Xbox was Ninja Gaiden.
My friends raved about it when it came out, but I never got a chance to try it, so, as it was on the B/C list, I picked it up. Had I known it was just a super difficult version of Devil May Cry (the menus are even similar), I'd have saved my money. I can't review this fairly because I'm only in level 2.

Call Of Duty 2- My first 360 game. Pretty. Could be prettier. Multiplayer sucks. I can't take a friend online with me, the maps are too large for 2-4 player, and there're no bots to compensate for that. Multiplayer feels tacked on. 8/10

Halo 2- Bought out of peer pressure. I'd gotten pretty far in single player before, so I tried that out again. The story is so weak, and at times, so cheesy, it was almost unbearable. Multiplayer in this game is fantastic though. I'll say Single Player Halo 2 - 5/10, Multiplayer Halo 2 - 9/10. That sounds fair.

ES4 Oblivion- Never played a game like this in my life. Used to the Japanese console RPG or the point and click Diablo/Guild Wars RPG. Totally blown away by this game, in terms of gameplay, story, evoked emotion, fun, and freedom. 96/100, reviewed post alottabugfixes. If I'd gotten it earlier, and suffered the bugs, the review would be much lower.

Crimson Skies- Super fun arcade style flight sim. Gift of a friend who had 3 copies from Live kits. Free makes it even better. I say 8/10 from what I've seen so far in Multiplayer, but it loses 2 points for not having a cockpit view option.

Just finished Forgotten Realms - Demon Stone for Xbox. Decent.
Also completed Max Payne 2 on PS2. Never going to touch this game again. It felt like death on rails. I saw the loading screen more than I saw gun fighting action. Must have been better on PC.

Less time on Metal Gear Ac!d 2. But I suck/have no clue what i'm doing.

I found Max Payne 2 on PC to be good, but not as good as the first - especially with the Kung-Fu mod installed for the original. I certainly don't remember long load times. Perhaps that's a function of the PS2 port.

Picked up a DS Lite last night. Seemed like it was time.

I also picked up New Super Mario Bros. and have been sorely disappointed by it. The levels are short and rather boring; I think the game's been made too easy and getting rid of flying has been a let down for me. Overall this game's not good enough that I'd recommend buying it unless you're buying it for a child who doesn't have previous knowledge of Super Mario Brothers. The original on SNES/GBA kicked ass, but this game doesn't even s tand close to its older brother.

I thought the New Super Mario Bros. was supposed to be a nod towards the original Super Mario Bros. from the NES, not the SNES. The original didn't have flying either. I guess many younger people (I am only 21) may not have knowledge of the NES version

oh and right now I am playing many games. Of course WoW, replaying Final Fantasy IV and VI on my SNES (it looks kinda crazy on a nice TV), and Ris of Legends which is pretty cool.

Recently picked up Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the 360 and I love it. Haven't been playing it much though as it's the only game for my 360 (aside from Halo 2.) I did rent Tomb Raider: Legend which I'm currently playing right now and I must say that the game is very solid although the camera can be a bit frustrating at times. Also, Geometry Wars: Evolved for Xbox Live Arcade is the shit, lol.

I gave "Black" a whirl, and it is fantastic. A bit short, but a pretty solid FPS.

The attention to detail is excellent, although the first time you put it in you are forced to watch like a 5 minute intro with credits, and you can't skip the cut-scenes.

Overall, though, I'd say 7/10

I had finished RE 4 at the beginning of the year but had not yet played the bonus sections, seperate ways etc... I've been playing Dragon Quest 8 and finished it once but it sucks to get the best ending, you need level 65 to get to beat that hidden boss and I'm only level 49 and it takes one hour to get one level if you are lucky and find strong enemies all the time...so I just quit it and am playing RE 4 Seperate ways right now...only 2 reports to get but I don't have much time to play either...only on sunday mornings

Just finished HL2: Episode One which wsa great. Hours play per pound was rather low but the set pieces were just as great as the original.

Also, just finished the Prey Demo which is pretty inventive and at points spectactular! Deathmatch with multiple gravities is something else, you jump to a ledge, the gravity shifts and with a slight queseyness the screen tilts and you land upright on a wall or ceiling.

Right now I'm playing:

Prey (360): Reminds me alot of Half Life 2, it uses a revamped doom3 engine and the graphics look awesome in high def. I'd give it a 4/5 so far, some of the puzzles are not too hard and once in a while its not very clear where you are supposed to go.

Chromehounds (360): I like the mech combat but the single player is basically a bunch of tutorials. Its hard to say if this will catch on, right now you don't see alot of people online during certain times of the day which makes it boring. 3/5

I've recently played Oblivion, and have had a lot of fun; too bad I've pretty much "finished" the game, though. Walking around as a demi-god tends to get boring after a while.

I also just got Prey. It's got some interesting innovations, such as being able to change the direction of gravity, and portals to other places. The whole ghost-walking routine also adds to the puzzles. I just found it a bit too easy (on the easy setting, duh!), and a bit too short. I finished it in a week of only-evening and weekend gaming.

It's quite nice, if you like space-exploration games. It's a rather typical grab-worlds, invent-stuff, build-spaceships game. The ship-design part is pretty well-done, and there's tons of things to invent.

Ultimately, I think it does get a bit boring after a while. I mean, what's left to do but build yet another colony, invent another even bigger gun, and build yet another highly advanced fighter? But as far as space games go, this is a good one.

Just recently rented and finished Hitman: Blood Money. I had never played any of the previous Hitman games so I was quite impressed, especially with the graphics on my 54" HD big screen. I also rented Chromehounds which is a very solid game but it's too slow paced for me, even online. Just not my type of game really.

Is it worth buying though? I was debating on whether to buy Dead Rising or Madden 07. It seems that the zombie killing could get redundant after awhile and it'd only be worth the rent. (I dl'd the demo and all it really let me do was kill zombies with some weapons.)

Good point, lol. I would just like to get something other than Halo 2 to play on Xbox Live. I'm actually leaning towards Dead Rising though, perhaps Perfect Dark: Zero for another option for Xbox Live.

I got Perfect Dark: Zero and was disappointed ... but that's because I'm used to FPS on a PC - I'll NEVER get used to using a controller for aiming ... it's so much quicker and more precise to use a mouse and keyboard.

Get Dead Rising ... fantastic concept ... my only wish is that the controls were customizable ... they can get a little confusing to use at times. Other than that it's a lot of fun.

StarWars Battlefront 1 for the PS2, and it's easily one of the best games I've ever purchased. It's stable, realistic, well balanced, and honestly fun. It's re-play value is fantastic; aside from the single player, the pvp is probably one of the best parts of the game. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys somewhat stratiegic first person shooters. Five stars.

I just started playing Prey recently, and it's pretty excellent for an FPS. It's got creative weaponry, good puzzles, and some awesome gravitational manipulation. It's a really unique take on an old genre.
