I don't really have a preference. If I'm playing an unfamiliar fighting game with my friends and they all choose jacked dudes, I usually pick a girl character. Easier to differentiate from the others. Samus is female, and Super Metroid is one of my favorite games. In RPGs, I've played as both sexes. |

If I'm making my own, male. Usually a ninja. I like ninjas.

I used to be like Dragonlich, in that I felt if I was going to be staring at my toon all day at least I should make a cute female to look at. But after all teh grief my friends gave me about it I've started making male characters. Now when I see that hot wood elf it's a real treat <grin>.

I usualy perfer to play characters with a high agility (Speed is ++). So usualy that means I'm playing a chick, but I don't mind either way.
Unless, of cource, its an RPG. Anyone else notice that most of the time the only way to talk your way through thingsis if you are a chick? (Assuming that i'm refering to suduction spesificly here now) it seems to me that guy dialoug options always pretain to convincing someone, while girl ones seem to be more suduction related, evevedably alowing you to avoid most combat situations you can. Bah, thats my 2 cents. ^^

I go for both I'd say, I'm not a fan of the tekken girls but I love Jen from primal, she's totally awesome and I bought the game because of her. With the 3rd person RPGs, i'm definitely inclined to go a female character haha, example, two friends of mine and I running around Champions of Norrath with only 2 rules:
1) You have to be a female character 2) You can only have 2 pieces of armour one of which can't be a breastplate or covering the chest. Yea, it was pretty silly watching an extremely scantily clad warrior, ranger and necromancer lay the beat down on orcs. At the same time it was definitely a good use of the ps2 multitap

I'm a male, and I usually play as a male. Often times it's because I role play a lot when I play video games; I enjoy thinking of the character as myself.
When I do play as a female it's usually when i'm just screwing around and want to try new stuff. However, when I play Fusion Frenzy with my friends i'm always the same character, who is a girl. I believe the reason I do that is because of her color, blue. If I wanted to put more thought into it, I could also say on a more psychological level I may be attracted to her because she is very thin and well shaped, perhaps making me believe she will perform better in the game as far as agility and speed goes. I know that she really is no better nor worse than any other character in the game, but the mindset is still subconciously there. I have a friend who always plays as female characters on the online RPG Everquest. When I ask him about it, he doesn't really give an answer. I once made a female character on Everquest. I believe at first it was just to screw around with, like I mentioned before, but I actually began to like the character after a while. Not real sure why, other than I remember thinking the face model I chose was actually pertty attractive (red hair + freckles). |

I will play as a male or female. It really doesnt matter to me. The one I choose usually has to do how I think the character should be. If I make a warrior in an RPG it will be male, if I make a mage or rogue, it will be female.
As for FPS, I usually go for the one that looks cooler.
