If you're close enough to LAN, why not use the real thing?
|
coz noone here has the 'tempo' to do anything more than lift a finger to do anything laborious
only way is to play on lan...plus i have a new linux server under my control....so making a 24/7 chess server doesnt sound too bad. |
Not a LAN solution but I used to play online for free at atlanticchess.com a lot. Its a very simple site.
|
You can also play chess for free on Yahoo's game site.

atlanticchess is pretty cool, there are a bunch of variants for chess and they have tournaments you can play in. Timed moves too, it emails you when it is your turn to go.
Haven't played there in quite some time, maybe I'll pick it back up a bit. |
ya, i know half a dozen places where one can play chess on the net
best being itsyourturn and gameknot i was looking for a lan solution |
