Lego Star Wars

Anyone else played this game yet? Fun fun stuff I thought. Pretty easy but cool seeing Star Wars played out in a medium we are all familiar with and love!

Stories vary in certain parts, just ever so slightly compared to the original movies. Plus there is a "Episode 3" in the game. Not sure how close it follows the actual Ep 3 storyline but it was cool to play through it.

Again it is a fun fun game. Not too long though be warned. But still fun!

How does it go for multiplayer options? It looks stupidly fun, and it's slated for the Mac, so I wants it =)

Oh, and how long do you think until the Ep 4-6 mods come?

I played the demo; it was pretty enjoyable, but I don't see myself paying for the game.

Multiplayer options? Just one. And that is Co-op play. That can take place at any time. My wife won't play! lol Not to sure about consoles though.

I bought this game yesterday as a gift for my nephew. Of course, I had to make sure it works before I hand it over.

4 solid hours of testing and I can confirm that it definitely works... and it's loads of fun. I haven't laughed so much in ages.

My nephew is nearly six and I think the difficulty level should be just about right for him.

Hmm I keep looking at it wondering if I should or not. I'm not a big fan of the lego games at all

Legos? Star Wars? Two great tastes that taste great together!

I, too, haven't laughed this much while playing a game. With over 30 playable characters, it has tons of replayability. I recommend this to everyone.

Playing it coop is pretty fun. But there's friendly fire, and since the controls are a little imprecise, some of the combat became more of a slapstick comedy.

Just played the demo (PC version) of this and it seems quite good, will definitely pick up a copy. Wasnt sure if you can control the camera or not. I tried all of the buttons/sticks on my pad and I could not look around.

Then again, I didnt bother going into controller config. Overall, a definite purchase even if you are not a Star Wars fan

Console version does not have camera controls, which sucks. There are some real pain in the ass areas where the camera just doesn't show you enough.

I loved Wired's take on this

"There have been games based on movies, even movies based on games, but it takes George Lucas to make a game based on a toy based on a movie"

This is a fun game. With a PS2 adaptor it's extremely fun to play with a ps2 controller. I am kind of disappointed that there's not a camera control option though, as it gets kind of hard to see your guy sometimes.

Hope this sells well to increase the chances of more Lego games. None of the Lego Racers rubbish. Lego Aliens or Lego Indiana Jones would be pretty cool.

Should really start a thread on which games/films should be made Lego style. One of the PC mags over here ran a similar feature this month.

Lego games are hit or miss. Having worked on Lego Soccer, the game was utter shite and drained my soul.

One reviewer noted, "Everything that Lego is, this game is not."

But yeah, depending on who developed the title, more Lego games of this style and replayability would be great.

Lego Soccer - quality sounding title. Will try and pick up a copy to see how shite it was.

Think there is some kind of Lego Harry Potter game around too but in a totally different vein to Star Wars. Sure its some kind of print studio or interactive kids rubbish.

It's out for every console except Game Cube (last time I checked). I'm planning/hoping to get it for either PS2 or GBA, probably GBA though, as it seems like it'll be a portable game.

Even though the gameplay is incredibly easy, my friend and I played it in one sitting, i still had an enjoyable time playing through it. I don't think i would have cared for it one-player though.

I bought it, then had to buy a new PS2 because it is a BLUE DISC GAME. Well, it's a ton of fun, so I recommend it to just about anyone who wants some good mindless entertainment.

It is mindless, there is absolutely no way to actually die. If you run out of hearts, your guy disappears in a poof of money, and you loose more than you can pick back up. But that is the only penalty.

So, this game is way easy, very simple, and very "SMASH BUTTONS" (until you go on a desparate hunt for the minikit pieces). And it's all worth it to get to smash things as Yoda.

The saving system is a pain. There's no confirmation or indication that the game is being saved. There's no overt method of initiating a save.

It's supposed to ask you where you want to save the game when you first start playing the game. You select it and whenever you're done with the level or have purchased an item, it will autosave.

The best thing is to finish the first level and then quit and go back and see if you can load a game.

Anyone hear anything about future Lego games at E3?

Scoured the usual sites and cant find anything at the moment which is a pity - maybe next year.

Still hoping for Lego Speedball 2 and Lego Toy Story

OH SNAP! This is the best Star Wars game I've ever played.

I knew it was the best when I was just fucking around in the diner, and i chopped off the protocol droid's right arm and left leg! I switched to him, and he was just hopping around! HAHA it's AWESOME!
