Italian Card Games based on an Italian Deck
Over Spring Break last week my friends travelled the world for their break, while I, poor pathetic wretched G. Frost stayed at home without a car, so I lived vicariously through them. I asked all of them to pick me up a souvenir, a deck of cards from where they were more specifically.
And lo and behold a friend of mine brought me a deck of Italian Style cards: it's forty cards, with Cups, Swords, Coins, and Batons. The numbering goes from 1-7, then jack, horse, and king. I've found several games online for this kind of deck of cards (heh: a version of Egyptian Ratscrew) and a few other games based on trump cards (kind of like Spades or Hearts, but in this case a game called Briscalo), but I'm wondering if there are any single player games out there like Solitaire and the variations on solitaire that can be played with this deck of cards? |

Well, I'm sure you could manage to play Klondike ("standard" solitaire) with that deck. It'd just be a little more exotic. In fact, I'm sure that just about any solitaire game could be played with those cards; there would just be less of them.

Man, you don't want to play Egyptian Ratscrew with a hard to get card deck. That's just going to ensure that you're going to wreck the cards.
I've played enough variations of Ratscrew to see the death of many decks. But with 12 cards missing, I would think that most versions of solitaire would be significantly easier. |
