Nintendo finally going online!

It's about time.....

http://gamesradar.msn.co.uk/news/def...sectionid=1587

I guess they finally realized that people really do want online games. It would be nice to see the big "N" make something like Mario Kart online. That would be a blast!

/me drools.

I read about this the other day. I'm freakin excited for the new Cube. Online Mario Kart would be most excellent... or good multiplayer.

It IS about time, killeena. Indeed...

To comment on Game Cube,
IMO Nintendo has been falling behind in the gaming industry. They're good but it hasn't been like their previous systems. When NES, SNES, N64 came out they were great systems. When game cube came out it felt like it wasn't all that.

I am with ya userasdf1234. I think they could have done a lot more with the Cube, but Nintendo is so stuck in their little world of what they think people want. They refused to accept that online gaming is becoming a big thing, and instead decided to focus on "connectivity", connecting the GBA to the cube and all that. While I don't think that is a bad idea, online gaming is a hell of a lot more popular, and there should have been a lot more focus put on that. And of course there is the always present lack of 3rd party support.

Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes and make a kick ass system next time, and do some good things with it.

Although, to tell you the truth, I have been more impressed with the Gamecube than N64.

I bought a PS2 when it first came out, and since then, I've shunned the GameCube as an inferior system. Over christmas I broke down and bought a used one and I've been in love ever since.

Nintendo definitely makes some mistakes, but there is no question that they truly want to make high quality games. They always think outside the box and seem to be more willing to take chances than the other 2 consoles. I'm not much on an online fan anyway, but I do think that they have learned from the mistakes they made with the Gamecube.

See how easy it was? Now tell your friends. People who dislike CameCube without playing it are the scum of the earth. Just try to play Metroid, Zelda, or Resident Evil and tell me they're not amazing games.

People dislike the Cube because of the image, not because of the content. They need to get over it and realize that it's still a fantastic system.

Also, keep in mind that Nintendo did include the ability to connect online. It's just that nobody developed any games in that regard. Admittedly, Nintendo itself could have tried a little harder, but they had other things to worry about... like making good games.
