ESPN NFL2K6?
I know Take-Two is dropping all of the ESPN parts on all of there games but I am not sure if they are going to have a NFL 2k6 this year, I don't know if they have a licence for this year or not. Anyone know?

No. Sadly, there will only be one football game this year (and for years to come), and that's Madden 2006 by EA "Its the only game" Sports.

You gotta be kidding me, comparing ESPN trash to Madden. You could sell the ESPN games with a ham sandwich and a ten dollar bill, and Madden will still sell over two million more copies? It sells more because its a BETTER game. FIFA, Madden, NCAA's, they are all better......

Look at the console market right now. If just Sony or just Nintendo had the only console out there, without any competition, what's the incentive to them to improve on their hardware?
It's called a monopoly! EA has a monopoly on the football video game market.

Personally, I would have bought 2K6 but I think I will wait a few years until they get the full potential of the PS3 before I get my next football game, Microsoft, EA sounds like the same business model, any competition just buy them up and force them out of business.
Like the Idea of Cyberbowl, easy enough to change the models. (edit for content)

I have to disagree about Madden vs. 2k5. Madden sold so many games because of "top of mind awareness" with consumers. People think, "Time to buy a football title" and Madden comes to mind first. I personally think 2k5's gameplay and graphics were much better than Madden, but it comes down to opinion. Sega was making great strides into the mind share last year, but they were cut off at the knees by EA, but more so by the NFLPA.

ESPN's football game isnt simulated at all...it reminded me of playing in an arcade. It's quite difficult to run the ball, whereas in Madden a skilled player can run a rookie senseless. The graphics might be a bit better, but the gameplay isnt close for me. Besides if you football games and all you want to do is pass it deep to Moss, then you arent really a football gamer at all. Long live Tecmo Super Bowl.....

I think what it comes down to is 1. Preference and 2. What you are used to. You are more comfortable with the controls in Madden, so 2k5 is going to feel diffenert to you (i.e. bad). I'm sure it would be the same the other way around.

ESPN NFL is a great game, so is their NBA and NHL games. And FIFA? C'mon...Try Winning Eleven 8, or is that too unpopular for you? ![]()

Winning Eleven games have been around for a long time, they just haven't made it state side till recently I believe. Also, personally I'd rather play ESPN NFL over Madden, ESPN NBA over NBA Live and Winning Eleven over FIFA. EA has great presentation, but when it comes to game play I like other products better. Looking back in my collection of games, the only EA sports games I have now are SSX3, NCAA 2003 & Fight Night (all other boxing games this console generation have been let downs IMO). That's just my two cents.
Lastly, "Who makes the better game" converstations aside I still stand behind my first post, "Competion makes things better." and as long as EA is the solo player in the NFL video game market I don't see things getting any better for the consumer just worse.

Does Winning Eleven even have real player attributes/names etc? You guys see the Barcelona-Chelsea game? Unbelievable.

The Spanish, Italian and Dutch leagues are all fully licenced (real player names, authentic kits with the badges and whatnot). The English, German and the rest are not (althouth the player names are a real, the club names aren't so you get North London and West London Blue instead of Arsenal and Chelsea, but 15 mins in the editor sorts that out. Also the kits are missing club badges but they look almost identical to the real kits, same colours and patterns etc). There are however various unofficial patches out there that give you authentic kits and things. Having said that WE/Pro Evo kicks serious ass in terms of gameplay, the way the players move, the way it feels it feels like real football. Over the weekend against Pompey, Henry scored a goal where he was off-balanced and as he was falling down he swept the ball into the bottom corner. He did the same thing for me in Pro Evo recently and I jumped out of my seat.
