Far cry?
alright my freind bought the game it's like 5 discs, he installed it, but when he starts it he gets the warm up screen and then nothing, any suggestions?

-Try different resolutions before launching the game. I found the game was less than graceful dealing with resolutions it didn't like at game launch.
-Quit your video card's taskbar resolution tool. It may be auto-switching you into an unusable resolution/refresh combo. (As a troubleshooting step. Once you find the problem you won't have to jump through hoops.) |

he tryed uninstall/reinstall, he even returned the game and got a new copy. I'll tell himn to toggel with the resolutions and, i dunt htink he has a new vid card so their shouldn't be a thing on the toolbar, also, it's on a laptop

Far Cry wouldn't work with my laptop's old built-in Radeon M6 video. I remember some kind of "nice try, g'night" message before it bailed. Their minimum spec says:
Video Card: 64 MB DirectX® 9.0b-compatible graphics card It'd be worth trying the 1.3 (?) update before giving up. It's a fairly significant (70+MB) patch. |
