Favourite FPS game
Yes i know the old favourite FPS game thread
What is your favourite FPS game of all time and why? Mine is Battlefield 1942.. best of its kind. Battlefield Vietnam was like a piece of dog poo compared to it. Great maps vehicles and physics and still a great game now |

Metroid Prime! If you've tryed it, then you'll understand why it's such a great FPS (First Person Scanner)

Probably Battlefield Vietnam. BF 1942 was awesome, especially the Desert Combat mod, but it got old after Vietnam came out. Vietnam's infanfry aspect is better in every way, shape, or form than 1942's. The only aspects that 1942 excelled in were slightly more memorable maps and a much stronger emphasis on vehicular combat. Like I said, I was tired of vehicular, hence me becoming obsessed with Vietnam.

I can't seem to drag myself away from Joint Operations at the moment.
Who'd have thought launching a speed boat up a ramp into a chinook, taking off and hovering over the ocean then tipping the boat out of the back and hopping on as it plummets could be so addicitve? The game's just full of really cool moments and potential stunts like these. You never know what's going to happen when you join a game |

Good old fashioned Tribes. There was nothing quite as fun as filling up an HPC with a bunch of heavy armor guys, then crashing it into a turret.
Oh yes, and constants spammings of 'shazbot!'.

Unreal Tournament 2004 definitely. It just has so many game modes to pick from, tons of weapons and vehicles, and plenty of mods too.

Well, this isn't a classic FPS, but Deus Ex occupies the top slot in my book. It was really the first game that I played heavily on a computer and I loved it. I've beaten it at least 6 times and done so with a different skill set every time. I can't ask for more than great, varied gameplay and awesome replay value. I kind of wish they'd given a bit more flexibility of choices earlier in the game instead of just the three different endings, but hey.

Single Player: Half Life 2. Why? Ravenholme and the gravity gun! Plus oodles of other aspects of the game that speak for themselves.
Multiplayer: A tie between Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat. I like them both, but I'm better at Day of Defeat so I play it more. ![]()

Well, if you would've asked me two years ago I would have said BF1942. But tastes change and some people get put on the Punkbuster blocklist for erronious reasons. Right now I'm addicted to FarCry since I just got a card that would run it (BFG GeForce 6800 GT OC), but UT2k4 is still my fav. I plan on getting HL2 at some point as well. But that's just PC. I have an XBOX, just like most male college students. I also have only two games for it: Halo and Halo 2.

Deux Ex, Half-Life 1 and 2, Counter-Strike Source, Battlefield 1942 with the Forgotten Hope and XWW2 (Experience World War 2) mods, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 (PC version, Xbox version was too dumbed down), Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, Call of Duty, Doom, and Wolfenstein 3D.

Unreal Tournament. I still play it from time to time today. Nothing can top the maps Morpheus and Face. You can do capture the flag, assault, team, or free for all. This was like the first FPS I ever played with decent AI and you can play multiplayer. I have hundreds of hours playing this. Best gun is the flask cannon and my favorite to use is the sniper. So great!!!

Starsiege:Tribes was amazing. Seems like some games have taken a step back as far as gameplay goes.

I'm quite addicted to Call of Duty right now, completely for the multiplayer online aspect, however.
Console multiplayer is a toss-up between Halo 2 and Goldeneye/64. Single-player PC goes to Doom 1. Classic, classic, classic.
