NBA Live 2005
I can't for the life of me figure out the Roster Management in this game. Can anyone here PLEASE help me out?
It says I have three roster spots, but whenever I try to sign someone, they say "My player would love to play for your team but you don't have any space on your roster." Whenever I make trades, I can't tell: a) Whether or not the other team is interested in my players and b) the contract value and time for each player. Both of these are vital for trades, and because of this, I haven't been able to sign or trade for any players. Please help meeee! Thx!

Heh.. that game's roster mechanics are a bit off. I wouldn't put too much stock into their trading system. I started as the Detroit Pistons, and I've managed to pull off a series of trades to where my starting lineup is Jason Kidd, Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Rasheed Wallace and Ben Wallace. I cannot lose a game if I try.
As far as I can tell, you just put together a trade package, hit submit, and if the math adds up, the team will agree to trade.

So in other words I'm screwed? There HAS to be some way to gauge what's actually going on in a trade.

yeah the trading is a little screwed. You only seem to be able to checck salaries in the Managers Statement menu under General Manager - so you hvae to do your own calculations on the side, to make sure salary caps are ok, and wihtin the 20% difference between the players ebing traded.
the overall interest is a vauge gauge of what the other team is interested in, although it's mainly concerned with the position player it wants, not the players itself. So if team wants a point gaurd, they may seem really interested in picking a shit point guard off you, but you will not be able to get a great deal for it... |

Oh well. At least I was able to figure out how to patch the Roster without using XBOX Live. I'm pretty darned happy that I have Rick Brunson and Shaun Livingston on my team, now. Wait...did I just say I'm happy to have Rick Brunson on my team!? Hey, I guess I did!
Another disappointment is the fact that other teams don't make trade offers to you. Blah.
