I'll probably get it, like I got the first three. But I started getting annoyed with GT3 because I kept running the damn two hour endurance races and winning by like 10 laps, then when it got to the part where you get a random car, it ALWAYS without fail either gave me the worst car of the four that was worse than cars I already had, or even worse, exactly the same car I already had! Man...

The version they had at E3 was very similar to the previous games, except when you hit a wall, it shook the screen and your car was slower for a while. The Hong Kong course was pretty cool. Of course it helps that Hong Kong is my favorite city visually. Graphics were a little rough but I'm sure they've been cleaned up a lot. It's also disappointing they took out network play. I got a network adapter so I could play the EQOA beta, I ended up playing that beta for about 2 hours, and have never played another PS2 game online since. I'm hoping they have got more Porsche- Lamborghini-type licenses, what's the story with that? I know there's going to be many more cars than GT3.

I'm debating whether to buy a PS2 simply for this game (currently have no gaming systems, or a computer at home). I played the first three WAY too much!

i'm going to wait until i hear reviews and maybe play it myself before i buy it. if it's too much like gt3, then i probably won't get it. i also would have to get the steering wheel and pedals too, which brings the total for one game to about a hundred bucks, and i don't really have a hundred bucks to spare. but, we'll see.

Definitely, definitely getting it. Been waiting quite a while for it. I spent a good portion of my life playing Gran Turismo. Same with 2 and 3. Won't pass this one up.

Nice a GT4 topic, I was too chicken to start one with my massive post count and all. So anyway, I've been playing GT4 (import) over at my buddies and we have succefully worn out a second gen PS2. Which brings me to having an excuse to buy a new toploader.

As for the GT series, yes they have pretty much dominated my gaming life since the Street Fighter series has fallen off. So without a doubt I'm getting this, something about the Seattle course just screams drive me.. and with that said I pop GT3 into my dying PS2. So now how am I supposed to get 100% in GTA:SA?

After doing some looking into it, I'm sold. They have the Golf I GTi ('76) in the Japanese release. I am going to wait simply to confirm that this car is in the U.S. release and if so I will buy a PS2 simply for GT4, and disappear for about a month.

If you're going all out you have to get the Nike/GT4 package, which has the game and a pair of Nike shoes together. What they have in common, who knows, but there's your ultimate package. Oh yeah, good luck finding that

I'm starting to hate my self because of this games upcoming release. It was originally supposed to be release in Nov 2k4. When it got pushed back, I figured it would turn out like Halo 2's release date. It did. Since it was delayed so long, I got rid of my PS2 (technically I just gave it to my brother). Now he claims it as his and doesn't let anybody touch it. I hate him.

This game is going to be the best driving simulation game ever. I got GT4 prologue and played it and was suprisingly displeased with it. But since then they have said to make major improvements.

My major problem with GT4 Prologue is when you are on a track like the Canyon and it seemed like the car was staying still and the track was moving around the car. That pissed me off. But they said it is all fixed now.

I remember when it was supposed to come out in April of 2004, then June, then Augest. Then it just said 4th 1/4 of 2004. Then it said Dec 22 2004. Which I was looking forward to getting for X mas. They it went to Dec 31st. Then Jan 5th. Then Jan 30th. Then Feb 15th. Then now Feb 22nd or 23rd depending on where you read. I even was told like April or March at the start of Jan by my local games store. Im glad its coming out sooner.

I mean they have already got commercials on TV for it so it has to be coming out soon. I hope that the cars sound more realistic this time though.

Also there is not going to be Ferrari or Lamborgini in this one. They couldnt get the licenses in time. And the models for their manufacturers were not going to be ready for a release before Summer even if they did get the licenses. So they are not going to be in the game. I guess you guys are going to have to live with Ruff and Koenisegg (sp?)

I hope that the online play comes sometime even thought they said it is not in the release of the game.

I just went out and got the Locitec 900 degree steering wheel. Put me back a whack of cash but it is so worth it. Ive been playing with it on GT3 and its really good. Took me a while to get used to it, like an hour or so, but when that was done it was wicked.

If youre like me and have already beat GT3 on a few occations this wheel makes it easy as pie to drift cars. Way easier than using the controller. Mind you you have to set up the cars for drift mode. Like lower the suspension in the front all the way down and the back a bit higher than the front. Change the front tires to super sticky and the backs to like medium or less so that you can get effective spin going. Also take out the traction control if your car has it but its a blast. Just watching the replays of linking 6 corners in a row sliding sideways through Seattle Circuit is wicked.

This wheel gets 9/10 score from me. The only thing I dont like is that if you are using the wheel to select options on the menu you have to return the wheel to the normal position before the pedal will work to select what you want. But thats ok.

Get it.

I've had money down on this game since April of 2003. It was scheduled for release that May. I'm really getting tired of waiting. Honestly, I'm not sure I really want the game anymore. I was all excited for it last December, when it was coming out on the 17th, but now I'm just not feeling it.

I have the Japanese version and I recommend this game to anyone who loves the GT series, or who loves cars. There's so many different cars in this game, it's nuts. Just cruising around the city is amazing with the beautiful graphics. I haven't tried it with the steering wheel, but hopefully I will be able to make a purchase on it.

Specifically looking for the VW '76 Golf GTi I (maybe Rabbit GTi for US version).

In the Japanese version you cannot buy it, you have to win the German Cup Races to win the car. That would be aweomse if you could let me know if it is in the US version!

I hope you weren't actually gonna pass this game up because of this one car not being in the game..It's pretty good.

I was also kinda worried the car i wanted wasn't gonna be in the game..But my Acura RSX is there.

No, I wouldn't pass the game up, because of the one car, but it would be the difference between an impulse buy, and waiting till I can actually afford it to buy it. If I have money left over after some real auto-repairs this weekend I will definitely be impulse buying this one.

I been playing this game ALOT..At first i was kinda..heh about it, But it grows on you fast or atleast me.
Especially after doing the license tests and being able to drive high end cars.

The replays are as real as ever with some great different modes.

I'm still doing the license tests..So i haven't really even got a chance to really race any races yet, Except the beginner events with pretty much a stock car.

I've been racing around with my McLaren SLR all day today. I found a great way to make lots of money, and I'm milking it for all its worth.

Spoiler: In the Special Conditions races, completing the second track down forwards and backwards rewards you with a fast Toyota rally car that resells for 265k. Easy way to make cash.

Loving this game so far.. but I play games slowly - I'm surprised that you guys are so far into it while I'm still plodding along with the beginners courses.

It gave me the option of clearing my wins from a race circuit so that I could win another car. I did that. But it gave me the same car, just a different color. Can I possibly win a different kind of car by completing the same cup, or just different flavors of this crappy car?
