I don't watch much TV and i just happened to see a commerical for it on the tube about a week and a half ago, saying it was to be released this past Monday. I've been reading around on the net about it and the reviews look pretty good, but I was looking for normal gamers' opinions. Anyone played it? Got opinions? Is it worth my hard earned $50?

I gave it only 25mins of play last night and got sick of it. The controls (especially driving) were very akward and unrealistic. The gun control stunk as well.
Its surprising tho, most of the reviewers gave it pretty solid marks. It really wasnt as 'gta like' as I beleived. Last edited by junglistic; 01-16-2005 at 06:43 PM.. |

I bought it the day it came out, I've just been waiting for someone to start a thread about it, thanks.
Back to subject, I LOVE this game. It looks great, plays great, and handles great. As far as I concerned, at least for me, 25 minutes isn't long enough to give a game a try. I will admit that the first 25 minutes are really easy, but it gets much better. My only gripe is is that I'm stuck on the first Ace mission. Its fuckin IMPOSSIBLE, damn... Anyways, at least rent it if you're unsure and give it a try, great game.

This game is unbelievable... it is just so awesome. 25 minutes definitely isn't enough time. The driving controls are very good, as are the 3rd person controls. It's so awesome to drive around and just find some battle goin on in the middle of nowhere. The airstrikes are amazing as well. It gets pretty damn hard too, which is good, so you have something to work for. Just today I stole a helicoptor from a South Korean base and used it to get into position on a roof top in Pyongyang, with my sniper rifle. I had to assassinate an Allied commander for certain reasons. When I fired, they had no idea what dropped the officer. Troops in the humvees next to him started firing in random directions... It was just so amazing, like something from a movie.

I don't think it's a great game but it is a fun game and that's all that matters anyway right? However, I can't spend say three hours on this game soild because I'll just get sick of it. Yet for now anyway, the game has enough draw to make me put it back in and play it some more each day. The third person controls can be a bit to sensitive at times and the car handling isn't exactly perfect real world physics, they are good enough for the purpose of this game. I wouldn't call it a must own, but it's definitely worth a rental.
