Doom3 Expansion

"We introduce the ionized plasma levitator designed by the UAC to move around heavy objects. It's also called the Grabber for short. You take control of this tool which ends up being a worthwhile weapon as well. You can pick up anything barrel size or smaller and hurl them around. Think exploding barrels, shovels, rocks, and even projectiles from the enemy. Imp fireballs can be grabbed and hurled back as well as the smaller creatures like the trite and cherub."

Actually this weapon was created back when Carmack designed his physics engine, it was left out because it didn't really serve much of a purpose in the final game.

All the same, looking forward to Ressurection of Evil as I'm probably the only person on the planet who still loves Doom 3.

Doom 3 is awesome. And that's ownage on the fact Carmack had the "grabber" thing developed before it was released. Maybe it's not-so-copy-cat

Fear not, I too love Doom 3
It doesnt surprise me that Carmack would leave it out of the final game. He only added the physics engine after he saw how much fanfare it got in other games. If I recall properly, he thought it was a gimmick that no one would care about.

It does, but its very basic and not very fun. It doesn't really have any depth, just like the single player.

As opposed to other FPS multiplayers, where you also shoot people and win.

I also loved Doom 3 and to all the people whining about about how you couldn't hold a weapon and a flashlight at the same time, they're finally addressing that this time around.

There is Multiplayer for Doom 3. Very basic Deathmatch. I havent had a chance to play it myself but Most people I've talked to didnt enjoy it. Course, they still Prefer Rocket Arena 3 to any other MP game so take their opinion lightly....

Seriously though how many times are they going to drag on the Doom series. This is what, the 4th time they've opened a portal to hell? Will humans ever learn that, Hell=Bad leave alone.

Of course not! Hell markets itself very well to madmen like Betruger. See, they keep thinking they're opening a portal to the next hottest vacation spot in the galaxy, but they dont know better because they're crazy-like.

Doom 3 was a remake of the first one. It wasn't a fourth opening, it was just a different interpretation of the First Opening of HellŪ.

If I remember correctly the first one was the fault of humans opening the gate, the second was Hell still managing to get through and assault Earth. Final Doom I'm not too sure about because though I own several copies of it I've never played it.

And as Lasereth said above, Doom 3 is a retelling of one. So technically the stupid humans only opened the gates once.

Weren't the demons actually aliens in the books? Like how the original Doom game was originally about a Mars base being attacked by Aliens*.

*got changed to demons after a similar game, albeit very crappy, hit the market with a very similar story
