Anyone playing EVE Exodus? -new-
I found some old posts about - EVE online - but I hear they've made a lot of changes and improvements to the game so just wanted to ask
- is anyone from TFP playing it? I been playing it for a week now and find it very interesting and fun.. There are some friends of mine who have been playing it for a year, so I'm kind of lucky to have them there to guide. It's definately not a solo project game.. It IS still slow, but the main thing, I think, is to make corporations and form gangs and make friends. And to build your own space station one day and run business and make bucks and let "your own little empire" flourish. If you're an action shoot'em up freak I bet there are better x-wing -games for you but I've met a lot of nice people through this game and I'd say it's kind of a fun way to just chill and chat with friends, while killing pirates every now and then. I got bored with it after having to go thru 5-10 accelerators to get from 1 point to the other. Fucking annoying to sit there for 15 mins waiting to get somewhere.
(I have the same complaint about WoW and FFXI as well. I loved teleporting in Ultima Online.)

Still fighting it.

Oddly, I found that a nice change of pace. It reflected my perception of space travel nicely, ie that it takes TIME, and it gave me a chance to talk to people in the chat channels. I just couldn't figure out what I was doing, or was meant to do.

You don't have to do anything, or you can do everything. That's the great thing about this game: Given the right skills, your character can excel in any profession. Want to be a miner? Focus on those skills. Want to be a trader? Focus on those skills. Want to be a PVP player? Focus on your ship skills. I have no steady source of income at the moment, so I'm currently doing a lot of mining and manufacturing. Once I figure out what I want to do, I'll focus on that. It's good that I have a lot of experience points in a wide range of categories. This means I can pick up something new with relative ease.
