Painting the PS2?

So I've been thinking about painting my PS2 game console. What kind of spray paint should I use? Should I use that Krylon primer-less plastic spray paint? Sanding required? Thanks!

Sand it lighty first, and you might want to check if your local Home Depot to see if they got that new plastic spray paint. If not there is a paint that I can get from Canadian Tire(like Home Depot, just with car stuff) its for car interiors, works good also.

Yeah, there's a spraypaint called Fusion that you can use. It's meant to fuse to plastic and I can vouch that it works really well. No sanding required. You can find it at any hardware store.

Doesn't matter. I've used it for my cheap plastic lawn chairs, television sets, computer cases. The cool stuff about this paint is that it doesn't matter what the surface is like. It basically causes a chemical reaction that melts a very fine layer of the first layer, and it melds in with the plastic. Cool stuff!

Fusion, yeah, thats the stuff. I couldn't think of the name of it.

Now, does anyone know where I can find a tutorial or whatever regarding how to take apart the PS2? I don't want any plastic-melting paint stuffs to get inside and hurt the electronics or anything...

I've seen plenty of professional painted PS2 systems online and on eBay, but at premium price... the point of this project is so I can do it myself, cheaper, and maybe even better... (Isn't that the point of any DIY project?)

Why don't you just get a skin for it, much easier, no chance of messing up your box, and if you don't like it, you can take it off.

http://ps2-scene.org/

there is a forum on this website that may help you with PS2 Case and Controller modding (from LED's to Painting)

I think this site is up to par with the rules on this forum but I'm not sure..I've read over the rules and I don't think this site fits under warez but my views might be different than someone elses! So if this is not legal would a mod edit my post hehe..

I might not have checked every single section, but I have only seen on thread in it about painting it yourself and noone answered the guy's question.
Anyway this is turning into another forum conversation, so does anyone on this board know how to paint the ps2?
