GTA-San Andreas Issue
Hey all,
so here's the deal.. I was sitting on the couch and as I got up got zapped with a tidbit of static electricity. Ever since then gta san andreas is acting wierd. What I mean is only when on foot if I press down on the left analog stick CJ goes forward. when I press up CJ goes down. left -> goes right, and right goes left. if I target (hold r1) then all controls are fine. in a vehicle same, all is golden. I've tried going to the controls section and i flipped the invert look, but that didn't change anything. any suggestions are welcome. I'm going to try it in a different ps2 sometime soon but was hoping someone came across this already and had a solution. |

I'm not sure if I'm making a connection here... were you holding the controller at the time?
If anything, try a new controller, although the static shock more than likely had nothing to do with it. You probably just need a new controller.

yes yes.. I was holding the controller. the shock went from my hand to the controller.
tried another wired controller. same issue. tried the wireless and again same issue. The only thing I haven't tried yet due to lack of available resources is another ps2. I was just hoping for some sort of setting that i might be able to toggle that invert movement option or something. I saw none in the menu. |

That's odd.
Not to hijack your thread or anything, but I came across a similar issue tonight. I was riding a dirt bike when the bike suddenly stopped mid-ride. It would attempt to accelerate and go into reverse, but wouldn't move at all. I fixed it by simply pausing the game. Then about five minutes later, CJ starts shooting like crazy. First the Uzi's: Bradadadadadadadadada! Then I switched to the pistol and he kept shooting: Bah! Bah! Bah! Bah! Bah! I got on a bike and his arm kept swinging around, blasting the uzi randomly. Finally I had to drive into Baller territory to get him killed, and when he was transfered to the hospital, all was well again. Wierd.

Have you tried it with a different game?

I have popped Dead to Rights into the ps2 and it worked fine. I have not tried a diff san andreas as of yet. My buddy hasn't gotten off his a$$ to buy his own yet. even in the game in vehicles it works fine. and when targeting it works fine. it's just on foot walking around that everything is now backwards. |
