I'd like to point out that after ending cs_office shown in Coppertop's first pic, subversve refused to let Coppertop and me play on the same team together and protested loudly. Of course, that seems to happen with every game we LAN. Not our fault they don't keep up on the learning curve. :D

Does the source code do anything about the rampant cheating in CS?

VALVe hasn't enabled VAC2 (VALVe Anti Cheat 2) yet, but probably will soon. There is only 1 "hack" so to speak, and its a program that makes all of your windows programs run faster than they should, which probably isn't too good for your PC since it probably causes their shit to overheat.

I was one of those early CS godlike players who played the game from beta 3 to about release 1.1. The problem was about the last beta aimbots came out. This, plus the wall hacks, and finaly coupled with me getting kicked off of servers because my skill made me look like a cheater made me quit the game about that time.

I still dominate on most FPS's, despite my advancing age, but when I tried CS about 6 months back again, I felt I was 'missing' something besides skill. I was just falling over dead, on maps I still knew about, instantly. I assumed that steams 'anti-cheat' didn't work to well there. Perhaps I was just outclassed and tbh I expected to be outclassed a bit, but it just did'nt seem kosher.

Yeah, the cheating issue is why I pretty much only play CS on a LAN with my friends. Too much shady business going on in the online world to fully trust it. Besides, it's just so much more satisfying to hear screams of rage from your friends when you cap them.

Or flashbang them. :D

Ace: It makes a flash to blind you and a bang to deafen you... hence flashbang. It's what real flashbangs do afaik.

I still play original cs, just too much fun and cal league competition is enjoyable for me.

I found a easter egg on de_chateau just a few minutes ago when I fucking around in noclip mode when you die.

This is the door you need to enter when you die (main courtyard, the one with all the hedges around it and windows overlooking the place)
