Most anticipated game you've forgotten about?
 

You know, like games you've either read a great preview about and then disappeared off the face of the world, or for whatever reason you've forgotten they existed.

For me, that game was 'The Movies'. I'm guessing it had something to do with 'Sims 2'? :lol: And probably also the fact that game - need to valify - it has been in development for 2 years. Still not out yet. :hmm:

Anyway, anyone else?

There was that Duke game... forgot what it was called but I've been waiting for like Forever and just ended up forgetting about it amidst HL2, Doom 3, Halo 2, Far Cry and all the others.

I've never really anticipated and then forgetten about a game, but I have been extremely let down by a highly anticipated game, namely SRS.

So much possiblity, so much promise, so shitty gameplay.

GTA: SA. I was really excited about it, but I have yet to play it except briefly at a friend's dorm room. Too many other games I guess. . .

Yeah, Duke Nukem : Forever. After multiple delays over a few years, we started calling it Duke Nukem Taking Forever. :D

That, and Team Fortress 2.

MGS3, Metroid Prime:Echoes, got exams and until they are over I am not buying any more games!

I kinda forgot about KOTOR 2 last week...for about ten minutes. :crazy:

I'm trying NOT to think about GTA:SA until the PS2 exclusivity runs out.

This isn't a game, but I remember anticipating "The Activator" for Sega Genesis. It was that thing where you control the game with your arm movements by moving them over various sensors. I was soooooo looking forward to kicking Kano's ass with actual punches and kicks. I brought it home, hooked it up, and sure enough, it was a piece of crap. I took it back and exchanged it for Shadowrun (Genesis) and Young Merlin (SNES); both games became favorites of mine.

The Activator! I remember that thing. Big old octagon on the ground. Inspiring HID at the time. One day...one day...

Duke Nukem Forfuckingever! If this game does not blow every other game before it out of the water, I will be dissappointed. I want HL2 to look like Daikatana compared to it, after waiting this long, I expect no less. Hopefully we will see this game in the next 20 years.

And Sims2, but November is the biggest month(well 2004 is the biggest years) for game ever.

its so hard to remember/afford all the games!

GT4... I almost forgot about it, after they delayed it by a a year and half almost or even more.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. I have been playing it some, but nowhere near as much as WoW. That goes for GTA:SA as well. I even brought my cube home to play MP2, and have yet to touch it the whole weekend. Ah well.

This year it has to be MGS3 and KOTOR2. I blame it on Halo 2.

Oh yeah, MGS3 is out. That would be the game I totally forgot about.

Starcraft: Ghost. We're looking at June, 2005 now. I remember watching the blizzard.com countdown and getting marginally excited about the game, but by next summer, it probably won't capture my interest at all.

Hehe I forgot about that one too.

Yeah, SC:Ghost is at the top of my list too...When i first saw the previews i was like...HOLY...but now that i'm reminded of it and i look at screenshots it looks outdated and boring

World of Warcraft

one day I visit the site cause it was in my favorites folder...little do I know the game is out! All the servers are kinda in a funk right now....

Freelancer.

There was a lot of hype about this game in 98-99. It was due out in 2001 but i didn hear anything. Then out of know where it comes out in spring of 03 and is sporting only a fraction of what they said it was going to be. It as an OK game...but fell short of all the hype....

Star Wars Galaxies. The game didnt faze out but i was really into the hype and when it came out i just forgot about it.

Not really, I just dont read the mag's and dont follow release dates like some people.

Not a game, but still based on a game... Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children was supposed to come out Summer 2004...

Must be a long summer for Square/Enix.

Kengo 2. I didn't forget about it but the distributors did (US releas was canceled)
Messhia I got it on preorder but after the first day of playing it I never playes it agian.
Deus Ex 2 I forgot about it and never bought it.
