I just reformatted my HD and reinstalled WoW. Now my mouse is sluggish and slow to respond. I have the sensitivity all the way up in the Interface Options and it's not helping the slow response-ness that's giving it a loose, unaccurate feel. I see Hardware Cursor and Smooth Mouse in Video Options but both are greyed out so I can't try that. I'm also getting 30+ FPS so that's not it. Also, I notice that it doesn't begin slowing down until the character-select screen. It works fine when I'm in the login screen but it gets bad after this.
Any ideas? Thanks for any help guys. -T PS: I'd post this in the Tech Forum at wow.com but I'm getting the all so helpful "Login Failure"

Video driver? The way you describe it, it works fine when there is no hardware acceleration going on, but slows down once there is. This, combined with the greyed out buttons, makes me think its an issue with your video card.

Thanks for the help guys. I did some searching at wow.com and found a guy with the same problem. He found that he could fix it by changing SET gxFixLag to 1 instead of 0 in the Config.wtf file. Not quite sure what this is for, but it works!

funny my mage dosent view the value of items by worth or ah prices or class use.. its by what it will disenchant into.
the big difference between blue and purple? blue items always nuke into a shard.. purple is the same but *drool* stacks. and yeah i've nuked several purple guns already to the horror of those around me. its just a game and well ive always has this reasoning. i wont buy off the AH, ill sell but not buy. cuz after playing diablo 2 for so long the mind set is thus.... an hour to a day from now ill find better. and i could care less how much an item is worth. instead of hoping that that item sells big id rather sell a ton of lesser bulk items and get the money faster. and omfg pfft how hard is it to hot fix tailoring? i mean seriously. we have to wait till a content patch to get it fixed.. sigh

GAHHH!! My first experience with being ninja looted!
We were running BFD. The leader of the group, a 34 shaman, started to insist that the staff that drops off one of the bosses was his. Me and another guy (the only other member of the group that knew what he was doing) insisted that no, it wasnt his to claim, but that if he wanted it, he could roll on it just like anyone else who could use it. He continued to insist that because he was higher level than me (Im a 28 priest), it was his, and I couldnt roll on it, even though its a priest staff (rod of the sleepwalker, +11 int +10 spir). We continued to insist that it was up for the roll. At this point, Im seriously thinking hes either gonna boot me from the group or change it to master looter just before the kill. He doesnt do this though, he just continues to bitch. We finally get him to agree on loot rules--if its bind on pickup and you can use it, roll, and the winner gets it: the standard fare. So at this point everyone in the group knows very well what the loot rules are, as we spent more time setting them than killing things. We get to the boss--first, while we are still killing the goons that surround him so we have an easier shot at him, he just runs up to him and aggros him. So now we have a serious fight on our hands. We barely survive and kill the dude, and then, the goddamn WARRIOR rolls on and wins the staff! The shaman starts screaming and yelling, cursing everyone up and down as the only other sane guy in the group and myself ask the warrior why he rolled. He doesnt answer. Then, he and the shaman run to the torches and activate them all, flooding the room with somewhere in the vicinity of 50 creeps. Of course, we all wipe. If you havent run BFD, you activate these torches one at a time and kill each wave successively. I know these two guys knew this and had run it before, because they were both talking about how many times they had run it. Me and the other good dude took the spirit healer and immediately dropped from the group and hearthed home. He had a 60 and went to put out a blacklist. I also got to put out my first blacklist. Bah, Im venting at this point, sorry. Im still pissed off. I should have dropped the group early. I almost did, realizing early on that most of the group was either very childish or an idiot, but decided to go for it anyways, which I now regret. You live and learn, right? Let me vent about the group too. There were 5 of us--me (28 priest), the bad warrior, a good warrior, the shaman, and another priest. Not the best group, but we are all rather high for the instance, so no biggie. First, it takes us forever to get started. Half the group is just running around Ashenvale looking for HKs, and wont come to run the instance until after about 15 minutes of prodding. Then, we get in the instance, and the only ones that know how to play worth a damn are me and the good warrior. The bad warrior cant hold his aggro for shit, the shaman, well, you know about that, not to mention that he liked to just run up and aggro things while we still had our hands full, and the other priest couldnt fathom that using psychic scream in an instance is bad because it aggros other creeps. And he used it when he wasnt even in trouble or getting beat on. Not to mention he didnt know the difference between bind on pickup and bind on equip, and we had to explain it to him after he rolled on and won a BoP blue *mail* chestpiece. After that, he still had to ask if he could wear something everytime there was a roll.

So I've rerolled again, this time a mage on Tichondrius server. Anyone here play there? I'm an allmighty level 10 so don't even try to front if you're Alliance! It's fun starting with nothing again, I usually get my alts a few bags or so just to help out in the early levels but without Big Papa Rumblepants helping out makes it a bit more challenging.
If you're on Tich gimme a holla. My name there is Suggs.

our guild died on lothar so me and my bud transfered to bonechewer we have toons to 20 now.. but im working on the one class i thought i wouldnt a rogue. I must say the ability to stealth in to say a quest creep and kill him is nice seeing others that have to kill every thing up to the creep heh. at this time money is easy to get. pick pockets kill loot like getting two purses instead of one.

Bah. The patch made it start crashing left and right on me. Disabled all my UI mods ( ) and it started working better, but still crashed a couple times.
And my internet connection is sucking at life at the moment--I'm pinging at 2000ms (yes, two thousand), so no BG (or anything) for me...

I'm not even going to worry about BG for a few weeks. Let things settle down a bit before I take a stab at it. I hope finding groups for endgame instances isn't going to be an even bigger chore now. I get the feeling it very well may be. The tradeoffs of having a small guild in which everyone knows one another and is really cool but still need to do pick up groups to run 10 man instances. le sigh. |

I made it in a 10v10 lvl 40-50 BG game today and had a blast. It lasted a good 25 minutes and was definitely worth the 5 minute wait
Later on I waited two hours and gave up

I had a blast in the 40 man Alterac Valley BG tonight. We got a guild deathsquad going consisting of 3 Mages and 2 Priests and basically sneaked around causing problems for the alliance. Destroyed a few towers and converted some graveyards and held them by ourselves for a while, at least until the zerg showed up. Mages can really shine in Alterac Valley; small AE groups can shatter some pretty strong enemy advances. Other times we ran in and got promptly killed All told I got 200 Honor Kills in about 2 and a half hours, which is quite nice compared to the usual Tarren Mill affair.

On BH its been pretty good, so far I havnt had to wait over 3 minutes after playing 10 or so matches. My main gripe is the level ranges. My character happens to be 51...worse possible level as Im up against mostly 60s...with raid gear no less. The other problem is the 31-40 range since 40s will have their mounts.
A really easy fix would simply to make it 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 with maybe an option for 58-59s to join the 60s if they want. The difference between a level 59 char, and a 60 char with raid gear is huge. Not that the 59 cant have good raid gear, but the odds are a lot better that the 60 will. The other nice thing is that so far no class seems to be dominating. All classes can be useful. |

I've managed to collect all of the wildheart set except for the vest and the kilt. Unfortunately BG's now occupy most of the time for all people in the level range that usually go on Baron and UBRS runs, so I have a feeling I wont be completing my set for a while.
In other news, I had a lot of fun today being a secret agent. 3 rogues and 2 druids. LBRS. 3 runs. We assassinated all of the bosses, managed to complete 2 UBRS keys, and got wildheart boots for both of the druids ( ) It was kinda funny.. the first time the boots dropped. I was like, "MINE!" and then I rolled. 8. My heart sunk. The other druid said, "Oh, I'm sorry." He rolled. 6. "YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!" I bet he felt pretty shitty. Ahh well, as least the boots dropped again on the 3rd round.
