Half Life 2 - Which parts did you enjoy the most

Hi, I was just wondering, what parts did you all enjoy the most. I suggest using the spoiler functionality.

Spoiler: Mine was probably controlling the bugs, and setting them on the guards.
I loved the scene where you were being transported in the main building on the rails, very cool. I think the hardest part was the darn strikers, so good.

Is the implication here that people have finished HL2? I should really think about buying a game that was developed for years but can be beaten in a few days.

Lots of people are finishing it, myself included, but thats because I was playing it seven hours a day for the past few days. Id say there is around 20 hours of gameplay (and damn good gameplay at that)--not real long, but not short by any means. And its certainly the best game Ive ever played.

Spoiler: My favorite parts were the under the bridge section and the whole citadel level, especially the "train" ride.

You bet that part was pretty cool. As for the comment about buying a game thats already been finished. Lots of people are finishing this game, not stopping until they are done, which cant be said about alot of games on the market today.

dang.. so do you people also not chew your food and swallow it whole?

I never understood why one beats a game so fast, I spend so much time looking at stuff, playing around, etc.

I've been playing it since its release and still know very little plot to whats going on.

rocinante2003 11-19-2004 09:54 AM

LOL Destrox. I didnt rush thru it, in fact, I saved at good play points and spent all evening in parts a really enjoyed. Thats a sign of a good game that even when your finished, you still play it.

BTW, this isnt a competition, just wanting to know what people liked in the game, much like you would discuss the movie you watched.

Spoiler: The best part of the entire game was when you first get the "super" gravity gun that pretty much can do anything.. THAT was sweet.

Then also the part where you are on the hovercraft and they bomb this one incinerator stack and it falls right in front of you.. I was just in awe when it happened.

Forgive me if any of these were said allready, but I'm not reading the others till the game is 100% completed.

rocinante2003 11-19-2004 11:48 AM

Yeah, lots of bits made me forgot I was being shot at, because I was in awe at the situation.

I haven't finished it just yet (i'm in the Spoiler: citadel) but so far the best two parts for have been Spoiler: going across the bridge and for the most part intentionally walking through the sand to aggrivate the antlions in SandTrap. WOW talk about adreniline rush! I've been recording my game play so that I can watch it again later just because it has been such a rush.

Well I just finished the game about 45 minutes ago and let me tell you: it's not a short game. I'd estimate that I played it for about 20 hours. And those are 20 hours of seriously fun gaming. This has been the best single player gaming experience I've had. Never a dull moment. I love how the game doesn't rely on cut scenes to move the story alone, it never breaks the 4th wall, this keeping you in the game.

My favorite part: everything. For real, it was all excellent.

I was quite bored through out but once I got to Spoiler: The Citadel and got to use my Gravity Gun to it's fullest potential, that's when I had fun... then the game finished 10 minutes later with a cliffhanger ending but by that point I didn't really care about what was going on anyway.
