Split Screen Gaming?
Hi,
Anyone know why all console games that have a split-screen mode use a horizontal split rather than a vertical one? I have a Toshiba 42" widescreen rear projection TV, you'd think it would be great for gaming, it's not all its cracked up to be, with a horizontal split you get the feeling that you're squashed, surely a vertical option would be easy enough to implement, I'd much rather have a tall and narrow view than a short and wide one. Anyone agree? Andrew |

I just read that Halo 2 give the option of splitting the screen horizontally or vertically... it's in the set up somewhere.
If I was at home I could check our copy of Halo 2 for this feature...

You change that setting for Halo2 by accessing your XBox setup while it has no disk in the drive. Change your screen format to Widescreen to have two vertical screens, and non-Widescreen to have the old horizontal format. I'm not sure about other games or systems.

Alot of games are giving the option to be vertical or horizontal because of widescreen tvs. Some games I prefer vertical, other games horizontal is better. Alot of developers are giving the options to use either one and it's a step in the right direction.
