There will be no fee to access PS2 online gaming in general. Games like SOCOM, Madden, NFL2K3, and many others will be free, save for the cost of your Internet access. That will naturally vary according to what kind of deal you can strike with your service provider. Some games may charge a monthly fee, particularly online RPGs like Final Fantasy XI and Everquest, but no exact figures have been confirmed.

SONY ONLINE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES NEW $21.99 MONTHLY SOE ALL ACCESS™ SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE

-In An Industry Precedent Setting Move, SOE Grants Access To All Premium Games for One Low Monthly Fee-

Sony Online Entertainment Inc. (SOE), a worldwide leader in massively multiplayer online gaming, introduced plans for SOE All Access™, an all-in-one subscription service that will allow gamers access to all of SOE’s premium entertainment content - from EverQuest® to PlanetSide™ to EverQuest® II - for one low price of $21.99 a month. The SOE All Access subscription offer will begin on May 19, 2003, just in time for the launch of PlanetSide, SOE’s latest premium online game.
Anyone actually gonna sign up for this service?

I for one can only maintain 1 MMORPG at a time.
I like to progress one character at a time as far as I can, not get multiple characters to mediocre stature.

They forgot to include Cosmic Rift, Infantry and Tanarus in that little thing.

SWG will not be included because Lucas Art has said no.

40 bucks for network adapter, I recommend broadband, and most games are free.

Maybe?

I guess it depends on what the cat5 plug on the back of the modem is for... You may need a back-to-back Ethernet cable to make it work.

I can't really speak from experience, though. I have ADSL going into a 5-port 10/100 switch. So, for me, it's a non-issue.

Good luck!
